“I used the included stand base. Upon completion of the setup, the TV lean towards the back about an inch. The TV doesn’t sit 100% vertical in its base. Is this normal? I’ve double checked to make sure I had assembled the base correctly.”

Yes. I think you have it right. I thought the same as you after set up. I tried to take a pic of mine. You may or may not see the same lean as yours but it’s there.
