• It is important to provide adequate ventilation around the microwave oven 3.5 to 4 inches seems to work. The oven has a thermal sensor that shuts it off if the electronics become too warm. The sensor resets itself after it cools.

• I cannot advised you differently than what is stated in the Owner's Manual. Allow at least 4 inches of space at the top, sides, and back of the oven for proper ventilation. ^Daphane
