Q: Questioni just wanted to ask as i keep seeing the word modem being used we dont have a modem with direct tv just a router. do i need both this and a modem or will it work off the router ?

• A:Answer I have two children and have up to 17 devices connected to my wi-fi at any one time. The Velop system works great. However, your problem could also be a bandwidth issue. My son is a PC gamer and uses a lot of bandwidth. He used to complain about the internet when he was trying to game and his sister was streaming video and I was on my computer. I had to increase the bandwidth package from my internet provider to solve that problem.
