I'm not sure about your system, but that sounds just like what I encountered with my old, and them my new speaker system. Little did I know that if you place your curser over the speaker symbol (mine is) in the bottom right corner of the monitor. You click on that and mine gives you and option of internal speakers or "headphones". Headphones is also for the external system. Now they work great. I hope this helps! Based on your question of 4 months ago, I sure hope that you had an answer by now.

Instead of plugging your PC speakers into your Samsung 27" curved monitor, I would recommend plugging them directly into your computer, however. If you don't have the option to plug them into your computer, make sure that your computer has selected the right audio input. If you're plugging it into your Samsung monitor, in your audio devices list, you'll want to make sure your Samsung monitor is selected. If you're plugging them in to your computer, make sure the Z313 is selected. - Maggie from Logitech
