I believe your math is incorrect. If the filter costs $50 and filters 200 gallons of water, it would cost $.25 (25 cents) per gallon. Also, the change filter light turns on every 6 months, and the water dispenser doesn’t stop working when the change filter light turns on, so your cost per gallon is variable, depending on the quantity of water you use during that 6 month-ish period of time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.$50 divided by 200 gal works out to 25 cents a gallon to filter. I change my filter every six months and love the convenience of not having to go get filtered water. Our household uses the filtered watered from the refrigerator everyday and lots of saved trips to the water station to get filtered water. I usually could tell when the 6 months is nearing since the water starts to slow a bit coming through the filter.
