I wish I could answer your question as to where the previous file is gone, but I can't. Mine don't seem to disappear, they just get tacked on with another name. I would suggest looking at your external hard drive on a computer to see if you can find them. At least this way you would know if they in fact were being deleted or the device just can't see them for some reason.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First time i recorded a tv show in a ext hard drive, I was able to replay it. THen I replaced it with a 16GB USB thumb drive, use TIMER to record a TV show, when I tried to retrieve it, I cannot find it. Then I returned to use the 1st EXT hard drive, tried to record a TV show using TIMER, I don't know if it did record or not, cannot find it. The TIMER scheduling is gone. did try to check the ext hard drive,it is not there. Any help?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have no answer since I am dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to this sort of equipment and have had no experience such as yours -- YET! My external HDD is a WD Passport of only 500gb capacity. So far I've not had that problem come up. How many shows recorded per day would depend on the capacity of your USB device I would think. My little 500gb external has some 15 shows that I set to record on it over the last two weeks and everything is on there that I set to record-so far.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You shouldn't lose any recordings at all. I can record different movies or tv shows throughout the day. However it won't record two shows at once. You may want to check your external hard drive for storage space and make sure it is configured to the DVR.
