“I got the hue color bars last year but it required windows 10 to operate which I did not have so i've never been able to use them. Does this item allow me to bypass setting the color bars up on a PC or laptop?”

Yes. I set them up using an iPhone 10 XS Max. Like you, I do not use Windows 10. I use a Mac. The Hue Color bars set up perfectly using the iPhone.

If you have the hue hub and the lights everything can be controlled by the hue app. This HDMI sync box will work with the phone app to get started and adjust controls. After that, you should be able to turn it all on with a flick of a button and your good to go. Never needed a computer just use the app for it all and you will be fine.
