What kind of hub does this require? null

As with any Philips Hue product, to use smart features such as syncing lights, you will need to own the hue bridge. This can be bought individually or in starter kits with other lights. You will also need to own color capable lights for syncing, as it is a branch of their entertainment areas feature.

I believe you need the Hue Bridge 2.0 version (more square than round)

I use mine with just a Google home device and an app on my phone. No specific equipment required.
