Are the buttons lit? null

Yes and no. There is a button at the bottom of the remote that allows one to make the buttons light up. However, it's only the round button in the middle and we don't find it helpful.

There is a Backlight button that only lights up a circle around the OK button with Arrows for up/down and left/right
