Yup, mine is hardwaired n it rung the inside bell. Did both.

It will ring just like normal doorbell when pressed on the button.

it takes the place of your current door bell when someone rings the door bell it will ring like your old doorbell (at your house) and it will also alert you on your phone
you can just turn it off if needed on your cell
