Yes, just make sure to mount it where there is the wood bar behind the wall plaster

They mounted my unit (which is DRYWALL) directly through the drywall to the studs which provides a much stronger mount than just through the dry wall. If mounting to studs on a plaster/lath wall, mounting to the studs would obviously provide better anchorage. Mounting only to the lath within a plaster wall would probably require some fairly significant toggle bolts or something similar to spread out behind the lath and plaster and anchor and provide the support.
