“Does this have a side to side sliding adjustment that you can use it once installed? If so, what is the lateral side to side shift in inches? how much can I adjust the Television back and forth when it is flat against wall? Can this be done by hand?”

To shift the TV side to side after installation you need to loosen the lock down screws slightly then slide the mount on the rails. The total movement will be about 6" side to side. The movement can be done by hand but once you get to the desired position, you need to re-lock the screws.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The rails on the bracket attached to the wall are about 18 inches from one side to the other. You can put the arm anywhere along those rails, but once mounted it is held in place by a pair of screws on the bottom (you can see them in the picture sticking out the bottom). I wouldn't recommend moving it with the TV on the arm. I made sure to adjust it before putting the TV on the arm.
