Hi Ryannelynn41, Thank you for reaching out and we hope you are in good health. The highest temperature you'll find in a 40-watt bulb is only 115F. This is still pretty hot for such a low wattage bulb. This is enough to get burned if you're not careful, so use caution when replacing the halogen bulb.
