That the display is so bright it lights up not only the kitchen but also neighboring rooms is a problem. We love the appliance, but the inability to dim the display is definately a HUGE issue. I would not recommend this appliance until Samsung fixes this issue. Since it has some limited smarts in it, you would think Samsung could figure out how to dim the display...but if not, that is a very short-sighted design decision.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've been putting a towel over it at night to block it. No fire hazard as it's tucked well enough away from the elements. Sad, that one has to do this with such an expensive smart appliance. Come on Samsung you're going to lose customers.

Please try again later.Since I see multiple Samsung forum replies confirming there is no dimming option on this model, the best solution requires knowledge of basic electronic do's and don'ts and willingness to open the control panel to apply window tint film directly on the LED display module which may void your warrantee. 1) unplug the range. 2) Remove 2 screws to remove the upper back panel, 3) release the FPC connector latch on the right side of the control board and lift out the flat cable to the panel buttons 4) remove 3 screws holding the control board bracket and tilt out the control board to see the display module. 5) cut 2-3 (depending on darkness of film) rectangles of window tint film exactly the size as the module. 6) apply/stack the film layers directly on the LED display module (use very light mist on the film to activate the adhesive). 7) Put it all back together in reverse order. I find it baffling that Samsung's designers don't understand that everyone perceives intensity of blue light differently. No doubt the designers thought this display was just fine but it strainsed my eyes to look directly at for more than a moment and that's when the room lights are on. I despise blue indicators because intensity is so variable. I may never buy another Samsung appliance online without looking at a demo unit first just because the blue LED displays are too bright and not user setable. I also have a Samsung microwave which isn't quite as offensive but more than I would like. An auto dimming night behavior on future designs would be welcomed and simple to implement feature (design cost is less than $1 in additional PCB components).
