“What type of Ethernet cable do I need to purchase?”

• Probably a straight-through Cat 5 or better ethernet cable with RJ connectors at both ends long enough to go neatly betwen the player and (I'm guessing) your cable/internet router. You should make sure have an empty square ethernet port on the router too. RJ connectors are the square clear ones, like for phones but bigger. Basically a standard ethernet cable.

• Category5/5e/6 with standard RJ45 connections. Note: I wouldn't suggest buying a Cat6 cable for this purpose. That's definitely overkill and more expensive. If you happen to already have one you can use it though.

• it should come with it ..if not make sure there is a number 5 on the cable you get

• A standard ethernet cable will work with this Blu-Ray player.
