If you have an SUHD TV such as the JS8500 or JS9500 then you will be able to take advantage of the UHD capabilities of the new format which include HDR (high dynamic range) and WGC (wider color gamut). You need to turn on the HDMI UHD color setting on the TV. Note that none of the 2015 TVs fully support the UHD Premium spec which was announced in Jan 2016. The 2016 KS8500 model does but Samsung dropped 3D support.

As I understand it The One Connect Box makes older sets compatible with a range of UHD standards including HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2, and the VP9 and HEVC codecs. It sells for around $200, but at least you don't have to buy a new set. If your set was purchased in 2015 0r later, it should be good to go.
