Please try again later.It will work while being recharged, but I'm not sure I would personally recommend that, for the simple reason that if you need to access any of the controls (such as volume or skipping to the next track or whatever) it will be easier to do that & less-likely to damage the recharge/upload input if it is not connected for recharge. That recharge/upload input is very delicate and is damaged easily (as I've learnt the hard way.) I would also recommend recharging the device with an in-house recharger rather than in the car, since recharging in the car will draw some power off the car's batter-not a lot, but it will draw some. I personally keep my player plugged into my in-house recharging station all the time whenever I'm not using it. (For one thing, it's a great way to avoid misplacing it, since I always know where it is.)
