• this is a great choice for what you want to do as my car doesnt have a cd player either this is what i bought to transfer my music to my car.

• I have used an older Sandisk to record audio books off the internet and play back through my car speakers. The only issue is if your cars' USB port stays "hot" when the car is turned off, so that the MP3 player keeps playing. Found this on older model cars, don't know about newer cars. Nor have I tried this new Sandisk in the car yet, but it should work just fine. The issue would be with your car, not the Sandisk, it's a great little player.
