Yes, you can make a disk image of your computer and then copy it over to the drive. It can then be restored from your computer later on if you need to. I just did this with my drive on my mac.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've never had an external portable hard drive from any mfg. that did not allow mirroring. If not a feature of Seagate Dashboard than use Acronis or EaseUS or another program of your choice. If it boots using Seagate Dashboard than simply move all the software into a new folder you create and then when you reboot it will appear as another drive. You can even use Windows backup to create an image as opposed to an actual bit x bit mirror. Keep in mind if you truely want a bit by bit mirror, it will require the same space on the backup to mirror you primary system drive.
