It will work. You might have an issue if you have created a back up image of your computer with your old operating system. If that is the case create a new back up image using your widows 10 operating system. As far as backing up individual folders you should not have any problem with that.

Yes it does! I use it either with my work laptop, that has Windows 7, and my wife´s brand new laptop, which came with Windows 10 onboard.

Absolutely not! NOTHING works with Windows 10. Buy a Mac.
