• yes you can use a single sonos five. no need to stereo pair. actually sonos fives is way better than a pair of ones.

• Yes, as long as Five is connected to your wifi you'll have no problems playing the music you love via Airplay 2. Sonos Five is sold as a single unit. You would need to buy 2 of them to be a pair. So yes, you can just buy one of them and enjoy your tunes.
