Program the AUX button on the Spectrum remote to power the sound bar on and off. See the back of the remote for directions on how this is done. By default the TV button is used for volume control and you need to change the default volume button from TV to AUX. Search the internet or YouTube on how this is done for your remote. I have a similar setup and it works great and now I turn the volume up/down via the sound bar and not the tv.
