QuestionHi I was interested in buying, is Best Buy still doing free installation due to Covid-19 ? If not are they doing any installation?
Asked 5 years ago by Nayeli.
- Answer Best Buy geek squad did my installation of the Sony. They also installed a backup camera and steering wheel controls at the same time. Everything works great. I bought the Sony because of the Apply car play, I wanted "hands free" calling and I was happy to learn that it reads messages also. I also wanted a round volume control and a front facing USB port for my iphone. I would check to see if the installation was still free, it should tell on the web site.

QuestionIs this compatible with a 2005 Toyota Camry XLE?
Asked 2 years ago by Steve.
- Answer Hi Steve, Thank you very much for your interest in Sony's XAVAX1000! Regarding your inquiry, the radio will fit the vehicle, but it will require an installation kit and harness (not supplied) to fit in the vehicle correctly. Because of the number of variables encountered with different makes and models of automobiles, Sony is unable to assist with the installation of car stereo and mobile audio systems. However, if you are using a wiring harness, further information about the wire color and function of each pin on the wiring harness is available. Please refer to the operating instructions of the XAV-AX1000: Connection (Pg. 28) - https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4740/de0cea3deac418e2d4780819876b2f2a/47408851M.pdf For best assistance and to confirm the compatibility, please contact a qualified, professional installer or refer to your dealer/Best Buy. Navigate your smartphone without taking your hands off the wheel with the Sony XAVAX1000 6.2-inch media receiver. Compatible with Apple CarPlay, this headunit allows for smartphone integration with voice control. Drive up to four 55W outputs with the Dynamic Reality Amp 2, and simulate a dashboard speaker source by calibrating output frequencies with the Dynamic Sound Organizer. I hope this helps! Best regards, Romeo

Questionwill my MP3 selections display on the screen?
Asked 3 years ago by rob.
- Answer MP3 via aux connection will display the song title, No imagery. However, this unit has Apple CarPlay. If you do not have an iPhone, I would recommend getting the Android Auto version. If you don’t know what these are, you can search it up on YouTube for a demonstration. Also, there are various existing videos on this dash unit on YouTube from installation, to features, and more.

QuestionIs it possible to hook up a subwoofer? It only has one subwoofer output and to my knowledge, you need two.
Asked 4 years ago by Lanie.
- Answer Yes, you can hook up a subwoofer. There are pre-amp RCA jacks, however due to the single subwoofer jack, it is best to use a one channel amp instead of a 2-channel so that the signal is processed correctly. Check out the YouTube video https://youtu.be/jKHZnE1hzC8 for tips on this. The guy talks about this at about 11:40 in the video.
