“I'm looking to buy this camera for a friend who enjoys taking landscape photography, but currently uses her iphone. Would this camera be ideal for that type of photo?”

This is great camera given the price range. I have iPhone 7 but this Sony quality far better when you are viewing them on 32inch tv. I bought couple of lenses compatible with this one.

Hi shookk, Yes, it is good for landscape photography. With its Scene Selection feature, you have the option to set the camera to landscape mode which enables you to shoot the entire range of a scenery in sharp focus with vivid colors. Yes, this would be a good camera for landscapes. Take RAW mode then amaze yourself with Lightroom App.
