Hello Anonymous '' HEADPHONES are consider a personal item one to thy own self, since the ear flaps are on your ears - why would others really want to hear when your all watching TV'' Why yes you can use them they wont hear the sound unless you want them too- have a great day.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on your TV. My TV at home (Insignia) allows the headphone jack to be on at all times, volume controlled by the TV. With Mute On, only the headphones have sound. With Mute Off, sound comes through headphones AND the TV as normal. BUT, I was recently in a hotel, and when I plugged in to the headphone jack, it worked the same except that the level on the headphone jack was preset, and it was too loud for me.
