WiFi ranges are subjective based on the environment (house size, inside or outside, house constructions materials, other similar signals in the area, etc.). Variety of options. Personally to extend the range on a more permanent basis if you have normal electricity, I'd add a nice router and make it an Access Point (AP) and not operate it as a router.
