“I'm based in Turkey, my son needs this calculator for school. A friend of mine can buy it for me whilst she's in the US. Does it come with an international guarantee? Will there be a problem charging it in a country with a different voltage rate?”

The adapter is US power supply; however, it is a standard USB cable so you could always use a PC USB port to charge the battery.

I would not suggest to buy it in Amerika there is completely different voltage. You might need to call an electrician afterward if you are not having an international adapter.

And if you are worried about the different voltages, then get this item at AAFES. They usually make sure that their appliances are ready to go to any country for plug-in voltage and for the different TV systems like and NTSC. I love Best Buy but they are not military friendly and the prices are similar but you do not pay taxes at AAFES. Oh, and if you’re a veteran, not retired, you can shop AAFES on line as of Nov 1 2017
