How does it work..to charger the phone null

I just place my phone on top of it. I have a phone with a QI charger built in.

The phone is charged using resonant inductive coupling based on the Qi open interface standard. The pad will only work with phones that have a Qi-based wireless power transfer receiver built in like the iPhone X. The phone must sit on the pad to be charged.
