Depend on how much space you used up on first backup. if there's enough space for your laptop, I think you can. As for Mac user, I know I can use two computers on same backup device.

Just back up to a separate folder on the drive for each computer (so you don't confuse which backup files are for which computer). If one of the computers is a Mac, create a separate partition and format it for Mac, then back up each computer to the appropriate partition.
