I don't know the answers to your questions. However, in my experience the manufacturers are very careful about insuring that no pedestals are compatible with any future models! We have gone through 3 or 4 different sets and that is always true. However, with our most recent whirlpool front loading washer and dryer, the older pedestal was not "compatible" in terms of color or same size as new pedestal but it worked just fine while we waited for the backordered new pedestal. It did not look very good - different color, different style, etc., but it did work.
