Questions & Answers

Q: QuestionThe question most asked just gets a generic response that means absolutely nothing for an answer. The real question is: :Why doesn't Best Buy know when the XBox Series X will be available for purchase or in the Best Buy stores?

Asked 5 years ago by UBinSC.

• A:Answer From my younger years working at GameStop during previous system releases the best answer was; nobody knows until the truck shows up. Basically Microsoft and Best Buy have an agreement on the quantity of consoles shipped to each region, and time slots. The only person who may know, is the stores GM, and they don’t talk about it because of the risk of units disappearing before they hit shelves

Q: QuestionXbox said there will be more series x available at launch at retailers. Will you have more to buy inside the store, that way so when someone shows up 2 hours before you open they at least have a chance to get one?

Asked 6 years ago by LordDeathBat.

• A:Answer From my experiences with console launches in the past they do try to send a few to each store for walk in customers on release day. I would definitely talk with management at the store as release date approaches and see if they will be getting a few to sell to walk-ins though do keep in mind with the demand of this console through the roof you will probably need to be camping out several hours if not days in front of store to secure one of those release day allotments. Best of luck to you.

Asked 1 year ago by Danny.

• A:Answer Short Answer: Yes Long Answer: Yes, but it depends on the game. Not all 360 games are backwards compatible. Some of them even require a disc, others can just be a digital download if you own it already. There is a comprehensive list available on the Xbox website or TrueAchievements.

Q: QuestionDoes Dolby Atmos only work for streaming apps on the Series X or 4k ultra blu ray disc as well? If so, how do you get it to work?

Asked 4 years ago by Cam.

• A:Answer Thank you for your question! Dolby Atmos support is available for Xbox games, streaming apps, and 4K Ultra Blu-ray discs. You'll need a Dolby Atmos-enabled TV, soundbar, or home theater system — or you can activate Dolby Atmos for Headphones on your Xbox or Windows 10 PC (available for purchase or with select gaming headsets). Enable Dolby Atmos through the Xbox Audio settings page: Press the Xbox button to open the guide and select Profile & system > Settings > General > Volume & audio output. Under HDMI audio, select Bitstream out. Under Bitstream format, select Dolby Atmos for home theater
