I am limited to DSL service. This is the product recommended by my service provider. Even then I spent hours with help desks before I was able to connect. My primary computer only connects to the modem-router via ether-net connection. Other devices can connect wirelessly

I needed a CenturyLink compatible modem with wifi. I was told this was all they carried. CenturyLink kept saying there was nothing wrong with my connection speeds from what they saw on there end. They thought it was my old modem. I installed this one and nothing improved. CenturyLink sent a tech out the next day and he confirmed my connection speeds were at the maximum for a 1.5 mb system, al that is available in my area. The install for this was easy and quick. It just didn't work. The tech installed a Zyxel modem CenturyLink Carey's at no charge. Every thing is fine now. This modem goes back the first chance I get.

    Fast reliable modem

I purchased this modem to replace a Netgear wireless adsl modem that had failed . This actiontec works much faster and more reliable. I use the mac address security and it works perfect. The wireless is good no issues in my single level 2300 sq ft house. It is very fast and easy to set up with the frontier dsl. If you have your frontier modem sign in name and password , the set up is very easy . Just hook up to your computer and follow the set up on screen. I put this modem in service in Dec 2011 and did have one issue after 4 months. It stopped responding and I did the typical power off and computer restart and it would work for a while but then stop. I thought it was defective. I called customer service at actiontec and they adviised i do a factory reset and that most times it would be ok. Well that was 3 months ago and it is working perfectly since i did that one factory reset. This is a good product . I would recommend it for frontier dsl.

I thought this would work as well as the Westell I was leasing ($10/month) from Centurylink. It doesn't. I spent numerous hours on-line with Actiontec reps. And, at least an hour with Centurylink determing it wasn't their problem. I am taking it back to Best Buy this weekend & I hope I can get one that will work.

Problems with my internet service provider continued after purchasing this modem. Finally they gave me a new modem which works nicely. So I don't need the one I purchased and wish I could return it. IT may be a good product but my problems were not solved by it, and now I do not need it. Unfortunately, the return date had expired by the time I realized it would not be used.

Even 2 hours with ATT tech support couldn't get this working. I've been installing DSL since the days of the green manta ray modems and never had problems like this. Tried Actiontec support and that was worse.

I had an ancient Actiontec 54Mbps DL Modem Router that I received from US Family (subsidiary of Century Link) that was bogged down and constantly dropping my connection. Most likely because of the two laptops, 3 iPods, 2 Android phones, Xbox and iPad which were all connecting to my wireless. Previous to so many devices, the Actiontec performed reliably, so I figured I try another one. So far so good with this model. I am no longer getting the constant dropped connections and my internet in general seems snappier. It was easy to install for US Family internet using the "Auto Configure" feature. Previous to switching over though, I went onto the old router and got the PPP userid and password. The PPP userid is under advanced settings and for me looked something like: [email protected]. I reset the password on the old modem/router so I would know what to enter on the new one. (If you do not know the PPP userid and password you'll have to contact your internet service provider). Once I entered the PPP userid and password into the "Auto Config" of this model, it took about 3 minutes to get up and running. I thought about getting a dual channel 2.4 Ghz / 5Ghz modem/router, but I really only have one device in my house that could even take advantage of the 5 Ghz, so I didn't think it was worth the extra cost, nor messing with a different brand. Swapping out one Actiontec for an updated Actiontec was pretty seamless and simple.

Century Link sent me there to buy a new modem, this exact model. Wasn't the right modem. Returning to Best Buy was quick and hassle free, that was much appreciated after a frustrating time with Century Link.

This router is one of the best. It's performance it great, it has a lot of features and it really simple to install. It is compact so it won't take up a lot of room. It is less expensive than other routers, and works with most DSL providers. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!
