It was easy to setup and you can use it to voice control a lot of divices. You can also use it as a alarm as well as a timer. I use it to control my theater room lights these are Phillip hue lighting you turn them on and off and you can dim them as well. I also use it with ecobee 3 to turn heat up or down. Last but not least I use it through my harmony hub to turn my tv off and on as well as change channels volume up and down. Over all it is very good unit. I know there is more it can do I am still checking it out. I think it is a little pricy but it worth the money.

Bought these multiple times as a gift, and every time it was a hit. Price is very reasonable and it basically functions as a personal assistant. Great device!

Easy set up and fun to be able to ask for information whenever the thought hits you. Also paired to our soundbar for room full of music on demand. Great value.

This is my second Alexa Dot to increase coverage throughout the house for automation and music control. Small enough to not be seen but still hears everything.

Always wanted one but didn’t want to spend a lot to get one !! Got this on sale and happy I did !! Easy setup ! Decent sound quality !! Gives me the weather -sets a timer ! Use it as a back up alarm to get up in the morning !! Reads me Scripture to start my day! Helpful doing my shopping and to do lists! Listen to Pandora !!! Still learning all the Dot can do!! More than I expected !!

Excellent value for price. Good sound quality for being so small. Fits anywhere. The kids love them. No dragging out a laptop for a quick internet question.

Love these Dot's. I have a couple hooked up to existing speakers and when combined with Echo's I have multi-room music that sounds great and is easy to use.

We have a Google Home, an Alexa Echo, an Echo Dot and just bought another Dot. If you're thinking this is the speaker for that party you're throwing next weekend, move along. The sound is clear and loud, but not party loud. If you want a smart home, Alexa is the way to go; it has more partners and apps to enable than Google Home and/or HomePod by Apple. And you can't beat the price.

This makes the 3rd Echo device. It works like the other devices. We have this one in the office and did add our Bose mini speaker (aux) to it which makes the sound much, much better. This unit takes up so little room, which is a plus.

If you live a hectic live and do not have time to search the internet in your phone or computer for weather, music, news, sports, etc...this Amazon Echo Dot is for you. Imagine you are cooking and forgot a recipe...ask Alexa and she will read it for you. Want to hear your favorite song...just ask Alexa and she will find it for you. You can even tell Alexa what to add to your grocery list and she will add them and send it directly to your phone. I still have thousands of skills to learn but I can definitely say that this is a worth item in every household. Happy customer.

I had read so many reviews online about this product vs the google home mini. I went with this one for a couple reasons. First, the echo dot has a headphone jack and blutooth, making it easy to hook up an exterior speaker for better sound. The google home mini requires you to have a speaker with chromecast on it or built in to use the external speaker for sound. Meaning you have to purchase another piece of equipment to have the mini do what the dot can without. Second, alexa comes with tons of apps called "skills" at the ready for you to put on or take off as you want over the mini. With the mini you are limited (for now) by it only being able to user google apps. Alexa however can use tons of third part apps for all kinds of different things making it much more user acute. Lastly the dot has a light ring that tells you when its ready, or in small cases that its having a problem. Its very useful to have indicators when it comes to technology. Set up was easy and getting it to work with all of my smart plugs and LIFX light bulbs. I spent at least 3 days doing research before I decided to purchase the dot and i am not disappointed in the slightest.

We put in kid's room, connected to main unit, and he loves it for an alarm, music player (since we have prime) and to ask questions. And very inexpensive.

We love the Echo Dot and we love Alexa. For being such a small product it has great sound quality. The microphones are very sensitive to where the Echo Dot sits all the way across the room, yet it understands me when say “Alexa” when speaking in a normal voice. The kids love to hear audio books and music, (once they wore out asking Alexa to F.A.R.T and her doing it). The Echo even understands my three year old when she askes it to play Megan Trainer All bout bass. (That’s how she says it). We like it so much we bought a second and are planning to purchase several more.

This was my second DOT purchase. Quick install and easy to use. I love the everywhere group feature; Alexa plays Christmas music through my entire house.

Works as it should, the speaker difference between this and the actual echo is quite noticable, but for the price difference you really cant beat it :)

I use this in my kitchen and it is great for using as a timer or alarm. I pair it with a Bluetooth speaker for playing music hands-free while cooking

I mean seriously. This thing is flat out cool. To think that I can tuck this puck behind a picture in our TV room and use it to control our entertainment system with the Harmony would be amazing. But I also bought a couple WEMO switches to turn the Christmas lights on and off. So CONVENIENT! I paired the music groUp so we could have music playing in other rooms IN SYNC!! So simple. We use it for a quick timer as we do our stretches. The list goes on and on. $30? A no brainer!!! Yeah...it’s amazon and not Apple but hey. It’s still mindblowing. ;-)

I start this review by saying that I'm not a fanatic about personal assistants. I am a prime member and a Google subscriber. Comparing the Amazon Dot and the Google Mini, I have to say I prefer the Google Mini. Amazon makes you subscribe to their extra music plan if you want to listen to some content, which I already pay $99.00 a year to be a prime member. The good thing is that Amazon can control a lot of smart "things" for your house ( I don't have any ), and also lets you control your Amazon Fire stick (bought one to accompany this purchase). Sound quality is subpart to the Google Mini, but the good news is that you can purchase a external speaker and either connect your Amazon Dot or use a Bluetooth or WiFi speaker. Overall good, but as I mentioned before, I prefer the Google Mini.

So this is my 2nd unit and we love it. At first it was a neat new toy bur the more we use it it becomes more then a toy. My wife at first just thought it was me be lazy but she likes it now. We are always using it to turn on our lights, listen to music, kids like the jokes. We use the timer and alarm system. We also like all the different skills that alexa can use and is still learning.

Love this echo. It connects seamlessly with bluetooth speakers to enhance the sound and very easy to connect to with your bluetooth enabled device.
