I wanted a reader without back lighting. This one fits the bill. Had my old Kindle for over 10 years. The new one has more features and a longer lasting battery. I also like to read outside and the grayscale display allows easy reading without glare. The price was great and I noticed it's a bit lighter than the earlier model. Very satisfied with this purchase. - P

This kindle is amazing. First off, for an entry-level option, this Kindle has the most important things: An awesome compact size, a clear, backlit display that looks pixel-perfect at 300 dpi and access to all the content from Amazon you could want to read. One minor caveat is that it doesn't have the full water resistance of other models, instead at only IPX8, where devices are tested to work after only a limited amount of short exposure time to water, not suitable for the beach or pool. Otherwise, this thing is a beast. I bought a glass screen protector online and put in a silicone usb-c port cover and now I'm off to the races. Looking forward to putting lots of reading time in on this one, I'm really pleased with the overall design! 4/5 stars in the quality department only because the screen is not flush with the framing and it does not have full water resistance.

For the most part I love this kindle. Size, storage & front lighting are all wonderful. My only issue is when paging forward it has a tendency to go two pages forward instead of only one. Not always but too often. Still a great little reader.

Bought this for my wife who LOVES to read and she LOVES IT! It’s small and light, easily fits in a pocket and makes reading in the go so easy. It’s just for reading g so there’s no other distractions which is a huge plus.

The size is perfect, battery life very extensive and good quality overall. The only thing I wished was there to be a white color other than black but great purchase.

Can't believe these are a hundred bucks already, but I needed a new one. Was hoping to wait for a sale, but needed it for a few upcoming trips. Backlit, good size for me, fits in back pocket (don't sit on it), I'm happy with it.

Absolutely love the kindle it’s easy to set up and perfect for on the go, can fit anywhere! It’s not too small or too big. Battery lasts a long time. I love how you are able to read any time of the day and no more using a reading lamp!

Great reader. It's incredibly lightweight, as well as very small and thin which makes it convenient to carry around. I like how the screen is backlit but much less harsh on your eyes compared to a phone or computer screen.

I love how compact and easy this device is. Everyone was saying the basic is laggy and to get the paperwhite instead but i have tons of books on the basic and have had no issues. My best purchase of 2023!!

Small enough to fit in your hand, but big enough to read the screen. Bring it everywhere with me and can barely put it down. Great charge that last me a 2-3 days. So much storage for all my books and more

Small compact battery last for weeks I was ether getting this for the iPad mini I was starting to become overwhelm with books taking up so much space I really don’t mind not really owning the books anyways since I would probably not pick up the same book in years one of my greatest investments and I normally take it with me while traveling for long flights

My kindle changed my life. I read so much more now. Its so light. It holds so many books and even audio books. The battery life lasts WEEKS. I love my kindle. My faborite feature is the dictionary.
