Customers are saying

Customers recognize the MacBook Pro's ease of use, performance, and battery life as significant strengths, with many praising its lightweight design and favorable price point. However, some users express concerns regarding the hard drive's limitations and the amount of RAM. A few also mention challenges with heat generation and operating system compatibility. Overall, the positive feedback on usability and performance outweighs the negative comments on specific components.

I love my new mac! Previously owned a mac that lasted me 5 years with only 1 battery change. Though that one was still usable I decided to get this one. Sleek looking, fast and awesome!

    Best computer for the money!

I've been a window's OS PC owner for many years and have delt the with the usual problems that come with the territory. Fighting off constant virus attacks, knowing that the computer will last only 30 months max if I'm lucky, and not being able to perform multiple task at once is why I decided to buy a Apple computer. After having my 13 inch Macbook pro for the last 6 weeks, I now understand why so many Apple customers swear by the reliabilty & function of this company. This machine is amazingly super fast, fun to operate, and is light years ahead of any of my prior PC's. I love how easy it is to operate right out of the box.Coming from Window's base computers it does take a short while to adjust to the difference in platforms but once you do, there is no going back. The IOS system is design to simplify most functions. The only negative is the higher cost to purchase this gem,but considering how long they last its well worth the money. My sister has a 6 year old Apple computer that works brilliantly. This is the best investment I've made in quite some time.

This is a great MAC - and while not a newer version, it is as solid as you can get. It can easily upgrade RAM and even an SSD. It is based on a 2012 design, but is solid. Lots of USB ports, a DVD drive, and a thicker heavy feel than the newer models. These are quickly becoming an overlooked product for the thinner lighter computers....but a MAC, that is study, and easy to upgrade, is worth a lot of money in my mind. Even MACs that are much older (5+ years) still work great. In today's world of tech, 3 years seems to be the oldest people will use before upgrading. With MAC, you can keep them much longer and still have a useable machine.

I have had PC's for several years and was so tired of them getting viruses and glitches. My neighbor introduced me to his Mac and his roommates Mac. They both spoke highly of the Mac and they are both computer geniuses. After reading some reviews along with their recommendations, I was sold. I have not been disappointed. It out performs any computer I have ever had and has been quite easy to learn and adjust to. I am not tech savvy, but I really enjoy working on my Macbook and am looking forward to learning more of what it can do. I would highly recommend this computer for anyone, even a beginner. In fact, I already have.

These are our Workhorses. We have dozens. They travel well although they are almost 7 pounds.. So flying with a number of them like we do often internationally, is sometimes an issue. PC Laptops are almost all lighter. The new pros with the SSD's are half the weight.., But no built in ethernet.. A needless hassle. We get about 3 years of daily rough use out them before a Thunderbolt or firewire port or ethernet port fails... at that point we kick them down as personal laptops and replace..

This is my first macbook ever purchased. I had some hesitations getting this one since the newer model came out. However, I am very satisfied with this one since I don't do any video/photo/music editing on it. As of right now this is just for school and casual web browsing and it is perfect for that. AND it was cheaper than the newer model as well. Sure, this one is not as "good" as the new one but it works for what I have to do. It does get a little slow from time to time but it's not much of an issue for me. If it ever gets to the point where I can't take the lag, I may just upgrade the RAM and switch the HDD to an SSD.

    PC to Mac convert

I always figured I would remain a PC user for life. Granted, I have an iphone and ipad but I didn't think I could get used to using the OS in a computer. But then I started using a Mac at my job and figured it was really easy. Plus, my PC was 3 years old and acting up in little ways, and my dad's desktop had gotten a virus and I couldn't afford to take the chance so I splurged and got the MacBook Pro. I. freaking. love. it. First off, it's so sleek and sexy. The aluminum finish and awesome display (granted, it's no retina but still beautiful) are so great to look at. Next, it's so fast. Literally starts up from sleeping in an instant and the internet is like lighting. I primarily use this for personal web surfing but I also have some software for my screenwriting. Everything transferred over SO EASILY. As I was setting up my mac, it prompted me to connect my old laptop to my new one using a LAN cable, and everything transferred over in a jiffy. I even was able to format my external hard drive, which mac also prompted. It's so user friendly and light too. The 13" is perfect for me. I love to watch movies and stuff on it too. I can't say enough good things about this. Yes the price is a little up there, but since macs don't get as many viruses as PC's and last longer, i figured it was a good investment. The ONLY issue I have is the battery life. It doesn't last that long. I'm not sure if I have the settings right but I usually have to charge it once a day. It's not the biggest deal though. Anyway, I highly recommend the MacBook Pro. Not that you needed to hear it from me, but that's my two cents.

I've been a PC user up until now and will never go back. The days of calling the help lines multiple times are over. My Macbook Pro is the best computer I've ever owned. It's lightweight, sleek, user-friendly, and extremely fast. Sure, the battery could last longer, but I don't think you'll find any that are perfect. So glad I invested!

I have the MD101LL/A Macbook Pro 13 (mid-2012). This is not retina display. It has 4GB RAM and 500 on the hard drive. I liked this over the Air because it feels more solid. This one has the 8x double-layer super drive. I'm not sure if the newer ones have a CD/DVD drive. I like that I don't have to carry around an external drive. The resolution is picture perfect. It has the FaceTime HD camera. This is a brand new unit and was on sale at Best Buy, but not as much as Best Buy's sale less than two weeks later when I price matched it. I would not recommend open box or refurbished. The battery lasts long on a charge, a lot longer than my Toshiba Satellite. What I don't like is the floating window and disappearing window. I'm not sure yet how I make that happen. I'm still getting used to the trackpad. Scrolling is a challenge. I'll probably hook up my wireless mouse. I'm partial to desktops, but this is a good laptop. It is so much better than my Windows 7 laptop (I don't like Win7 at all). This is so much faster and user-friendly. I would recommend this Macbook Pro. I haven't bought a case yet. I may go with the Speck. If you get this and buy a case remember to make sure it's not for the retina display model.

This is my second MacBook Pro. It's great for work and school. Light enough to bring to class and use to take notes. It is fast and the picture is awesome. The sound quality is better than most. Battery last longer than my previous Mac. It was easy to set up and in full use in a very short time. I just love it! An awesome purchase - the computer folks at Best Buy helped me to pick out the perfect laptop. Thanks!!

Purchased new MacBook (old one is now 6 years old). Hoping for increased speed and battery power. Notice no difference in machines. El Capitan is the problem. I would NOT "upgrade" to this OS. All my issues started on old machine with EC and began on new machine when I time machined to new MacBook

It's a Mac. It works better than a PC. This is coming from a guy who refused to buy a Mac and repaired everyone else's PC when they had issues. I own 3 Macs now. A MacMini, an 27" iMac, and now this MacBook Pro. I Got my first Mac 3 years ago and I will never buy a PC again. When someone asks me to figure out what is wrong with their PC, I tell them. "It's not a Mac, that's the problem. Spend a little more money and get a Mac and you won't have all these issues." Plus, they aren't obsolete 3 seconds after you walk out the door of the store. Get a Mac if you hate computer issues.

We really like our new MacBook so far. It has taken a little getting used to (been using a PC for many years), but the performance is great and it looks really nice. We like the backlit keyboard and that the computer works quickly (no lag) when you want to do something. It has an attractive look and is much lighter than the other PCs we have had. The battery life has been really good so far as well.

I was a bit nervous at first when I saw it was an open box, but I got it any way and don't regret it. The computer works great with no problems at all. I'm a college student and I have to say that this laptop has been working fast. I don't really like the fact that this laptop gets too hot to the point where my legs turn a little red but I expected as much. Other than that, great working laptop. All I need to buy now is a cooling fan and a case.

It's Apple. What more is there to say? Laptop is crispy, smooth and fast. It is a Christmas gift for my teenage daughter and she,s in cloud 9 right now. Me, Santa got me a PHAT Dell touchscreen laptop and when I told my daughter it was touchscreen, she fell off her cloud for a few but then went right back to facetiming her friend. So it seems the only thing this laptop is missing is a touchscreen. But whatever man, it's a freakin Apple and the price was awesome. Got it from BestBuy during a Black Friday sale for $799. Which was a $300 off sale price.

Basically got tired of all the other brands freezing on me after 4 months, so decided to buy something expensive to see if it was worth the extra money. So far so good, can't complain about it. It's fast, hasn't frozen yet, automatically runs the Internet when near WiFi locations, opens fast upon opening lid where I don't have to wait 5 minutes to reload the page like other computers. Battery is very decent. Overall an impressive piece of machinery. Only thing is that excel doesn't run so smoothly on it, but then again might be the actual software not the mac.

I bought this MacBook Pro for my wife who has always wanted one. We are impressed with the long battery life it has. Love the ease of its use. It has a great speaker system that she jams out to, but she also uses some headphones. She loves her music loud and this MacBook delivers! She loves that this one has a DVD port that she watches movies on it. Love all the apps that she can download and use. Would recommend this MacBook Pro.
