Needed to upgrade from Windows XP and wanted a laptop with a DVD player. This one fits the bill for all the 'wants' of a new one. Lightweight, dvd player and a lot of memory. Very nice for the price.

This is a good computer to use to do your basic everyday browsing. The battery life (as most pc's) could be better. If you are looking for a pc for the kids or if you're not planning on using this for business reasons, this is a pc to consider.

Needing a laptop to replace/add to one I had purchased for a music program….having to shift back to using windows…and lots to relearn and add to knowing…Seems to be worth it. A little concerned that the weight of the laptop is so light…wish it had the back lit keys like my other laptop; the printer chord doesn't fit easily into the side, and I keep mistakingly hit commands without realizing it just by lightly touching a key.….but I'm still adjusting to all that the computer has to offer; seems to be worth the price - if it lasts a while. My college sophomore daughter helped me choose it. She had to have a laptop for her business major at school.

I've enjoyed my purchase thus far. I believe it was a great price for the performance of the laptop & I've used other name brand laptops with same specs & I couldn't tell difference.

With plenty of power to complete homework assignments and a ton of storage, this laptop is everything our high-schooler needs. Performs admirably for such an affordable price.

Asus has the perfect balance of a large capacity hard drive, good memory, good number of USB ports and a reliable i3 chip. The surface silver finish is refined though the keyboard feels a little cheap. Then again, for $250 it is a great bargain. I'd highly recommend for anyone using for basic browsing, storing pictures and some Office applications.

Spilled drink on HP Laptop, It fried it, even the hard drive was fried. This Laptop was on sale at BestBuy and I picked it up. Didn't really want Windows 10 but got it anyway, set it up and its working great. I now like windows 10. Everything works great and is pretty fast.

needed a light weight laptop for my father. good laptop for the money. plenty of memory for his use. prefect for a non-gamer.

I chose this lap top because it is the best bang for the buck. Performance has been flawless. I researched a lot of lap tops before choosing this Asus and to get all of the features for under 300.00 is the deal of the year. Students will be happy with the large storage capacity and keyboard. Typing is comfortable thanks to responsive keys and layout. The numeric keypad is a bonus in this price point -- and so is the Caps Lock lighted key. Little things and attention to detail mean a lot to consumers who use a product daily. It's great for general web surfing and light tasks; it has Bluetooth; the media drive is a nice touch. In all, the only thing missing from all of the features packed into this gem is a Touch screen which is understandable at this price point. It's surprisingly lightweight for its size. The battery life could be improved, however. I use a wireless mouse instead of the track pad and have had zero issues. It's faster than I thought it would be given the entry level processor. The speakers are better than average. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a basic use machine. This is my 4th Asus lap top and probably the best buy for the price.

This is a reasonable unit for the price.It does what you expect it to do.Could have more USB ports but since it has bluetooth I guess that's why it only has two.

This computer was purchased for my 11 year old grandson. He had a computer previously, but it suffered some unfortunate knocks and drops. I didn't want to invest a lot of money into another computer just to have the same outcome. So, to prove he can take care of a computer properly we purchased this computer. He likes it better than the first one ( which also was an Asus he had only had it for about a year and a half). He says his new computer is faster and is completely happy with it. He uses it a lot for gaming and for watching Youtube videos. Come fall, it will get some school use as well. This is the third Asus computer that has been purchased by our family. I have one that is 8 years old and still going strong. Love the brand.

price was great for a product this good, love the huge memory space(1TB) and the almost up to date processor(core i3). definitely worth every penny spent!

The laptop performs well and is totally adequate for everyday use. The only real negative is the cheap feel of the keyboard. Keys feel loose and shifty.

This laptop is the best for the money. I have bought two of them and they do everything you need them to.

I purchased this Asus laptop for my mom. It is perfect for her. She doesn't need a top end machine for what she does on a laptop. It's able to keep up with her internet browsing, casual games & invoice making that she does for her business. It has plenty of HD space for family photos and whatever else she wants to put on. She is happy with the performance of this laptop.

Perfect computer for the price. Lightweight, great battery life. Fast enough for everyday use, but it won't let you control a NASA command center

I actually bought and built this laptop for running 3D drafting programs. I compared this unit to the HP Z Series Elitebook which I used for several employers in the past. After carefully comparing the specifications of both and reading / viewing many reviews, the performance of the ASUS seemed better at a much lower price. I am currently simultaneously running Solidworks, Inventor, and Revit. So far, I haven't had a hang-up or freeze with any of them. I have all of the programs installed on the Steady State Hard Drive to relieve C drive. I have also deleted all of my unused factory installed programs and installed the maximum 32 GB of memory. All of the gaming software still remains and is operable. This unit is great and my first drafting project paid for the system and upgrades. Ninety percent of the time I am seen working on this laptop in public, I get multiple compliments as if I, myself am invisible. GET ONE! The ASUS ROG 17" backpack must be purchased with it for you to grab wanted and unwanted attention! You won't regret it!

For the price point, this laptop is great! It has enough power and storage for all typical tasks. Screen is appropriate too. Would buy again.
