We were having chronic internet problem. We were constantly resetting our router. Everyone was having trouble connecting. Our internet speed was nowhere near what we were paying for, so we bought a new router - WOW! Problems solved. Great coverage. Our internet speed matches what we are paying for. No connection issues. We were able to set up individual networks for our children to connect to so we could monitor their traffic. Great online tool with lots of bells and whistles.

I recently bought the Nighthawk AC2600 gaming router because I love the Dumus Operating System. It wouldn't stay connected for 2 days without failing. Went back to Bestbuy where a great associate told me that router was no good but this Asus would do everything at a lower price. Man was he dead on. Fantastic range, my speeds are constant at max, and I can also control it via the app. Love it, love it, love it.

We were having trouble with our wi-fi in our 1500sq. Ft. Home. My 14 yr. old son recommended this one. Very easy to set up & connect to everything! No more problems receiving wi-fi, hurray!

I recent upgraded from my Spectrum router to this, and the speed difference was incredible! I have consistent higher speeds with no drops. My 2.4hz connection kept dropping out with the Spectrum router. Now I have no issues. It’s very easy to set up the connection and customize it the way I want. Worth every penny.

Beefy router for sure. Great options for gaming but one is a monthly subscription which stinks after you pay the money for the router. There are all kinds of options to manage it as well.

I needed a wireless router with better range after moving into a larger house. After reading reviews I decided to give the rt-3100 a try. This router is the same as the RT-AC88U with the exception of having 4 LAN ports instead of 8. Seeing as I no longer have anything connected via network cables any longer this was not an important feature to me. Everything else about the router appears to be the same as the AC88U.
Setup of the router could not be simpler. I did see a comment that you had to physically connect a PC to the router for setup. This is not true. I used my phone to connect. And actually, when I plugged in and turned on the router, then connected to the new wireless signal, I was thrown into the wireless setup page after choosing to connect (Android phone).
I was asked to change the login name and password. I was then asked to give the wireless ssid a name and create a passcode for those. And I was done. Giving the router the same name and passcode as my previous router meant that my wireless devices simply connected to it as they did with the previous one without me having to go to each one and setup wireless again on them.
Testing the throughput of the router gave me speeds of 100 - 142mbs (on a 150mbs line that normally tests at about 110 - 140mbs). Testing the router on the second floor of the house (router is located in the basement) I continued to get 140mbs (on my phone on the 5G band, pc (with older wi-fi tech in it) located on the 2nd floor tested at 80mbs on the 5G band). My old router was giving me speeds of 1.5 - 30mbs (on the 5G band).
I was sure I would be bringing this router back to the store because it wouldn't live up to the hype of being able to cover 5k sq ft. However, I found myself very pleased at the performance and I'll be keeping it.

This router is a bit of a pain to setup. You do need the router to be plugged in to the modem and your computer to be plugged in for the initial setup. Very good coverage

Purchased this from BB after extensively reading reviews here, at competitors, and in the press. Other than some quirks in the documentation and interface guidance (which are frustrating but can be figured out) the performance is excellent all around. Lots of flexibility in configuration, very useful traffic monitoring by device. We have a large house (3000+ SF) with many barriers and the WiFi penetrates into areas for which repeaters were necessary in the past. I would strongly recommend this product - and also recommend that Asus improve its documentation.

I bought this with the Asus AC 1900 to see which would cover a space. My thought was that if the 1900 did not, I would plug in this bad boy and it woudl have no problem.
After testing the 1900 I got okay speeds at my furthest distances, but I wanted to test the 3100 to see if it woudl be robust at those furthest distances. After plugging in the 3100 and testing the speeds, it was putting out the same speed at the same distance as the 1900, so I packaged this one back up and save $100.
Don't get me wrong, this is a very good router that can handle a number of devices, but the range could be a little stronger if they are going to put the 3100 on the box.

I bought this router on black Friday because I needed a new router. This one is more than I was expecting. I needed one to accommodate all the devices in my house with 3 kids. This one does that and the price was more than perfect. Easy to set up and get going. Perfect for me is all I can say. I am only giving a 4 star because I have only used it for a week now, so time will tell if this keeps on working great like it is now.

Bought this to replace an older Asus 802.11AC wireless modem that had an issue with failing power switch after many years of 24/7 service. This modem set up immediately with zero issues connected to 24 port switch and then to cable modem. Fast fast fast and great range in 2 story home. 250 Mb down. 20 Mb up wireless to 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 tablet, 300/20 to networked Dell W10 pro desktop. VERY satisfied!

I really like this router and believe it is a great buy for what you get. I looked at the 8-port version, but this does the exactly the same things. I'd say save some money because you get the NAS aggregation in ports 3 & 4, along with MIMO for fast packet transfers over several devices. If you not need more ports, the other router may be may be an alternstive.
Also, when you log into the router itself, it logs in very quickly. That is nice.

I purchased this router as a replacement for an existing Netgear Nighthawk router that would stop passing wireless traffic and the management interface wouldn't respond every few days. I originally purchased a Linksys as the replacement, but the coverage was poor compared to my previous Netgear.
So, after reading some reviews, I decided to purchase the Asus, and so far and I very pleased with the results. The wireless coverage and throughput matches or exceeds my Netgear. The management interface is well designed making is easy to configure and manage the router. The footprint is a little larger, but that was not an issue where I was installing it. For those upgrading from a router without MIMO technology, take into account the space needed for the extra antennas.
I have been using the router for several weeks and have yet had to reboot it - a major plus. It handles my cable modem speeds fine. In addition to great wireless coverage, it has not had any problem handling the number of devices I have (20+ between phones, Smart TVs, various Alexa products, and more).
My only con is that adding an external storage device for sharing on the network is poorly documented and implemented. I have yet had success in getting it to work so I can backup my PCs. This was a great feature of the Netgear products.
Overall, a great router for gaming, multimedia, and large device networks. Also offers great coverage. I would definitely purchase again.

I find this reliable and with good speed and range. The signal lights up my entire block. In fact, I can take my pontoon on my lake and get a good signal while taking in some rays. I have about 10 wireless devices attached, including a gamer that hogs band-width. This router is not a bottleneck. Easy to set up; I like the parental controls. Seems like this is pretty expensive, but I got tired of buying $79 modems that need premature replacement.

I wanted to upgrade my router after getting a new computer. I purchased this with the intentions of using the aimesh feature in the future. The range is excellent and there are no speed issues like with my isp provided router. The app is also very helpful. From getting set up to monitoring the system, it’s easy to use. The only downside is the 4 Ethernet ports, would have liked more for a just-in-case scenario.

Router was easy to setup. It is pretty much plug and play. GUI is not intuitive, but easy to use once you figure out how to navigate through it. It does have advance features which are nice. I would recommend stay away from game boost as I think that is a waste of money for the average or intense gamer. I like the router it does its job.
