Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the ProArt P16 laptop's exceptional screen quality, overall performance, and the speed of its Ryzen AI 9 HX processor. The laptop also receives positive feedback for its good battery life, ample RAM, sleek design, and portability. While the refresh rate is seen as slightly low and the fan can be noisy under heavy use, the heat dissipation is also a minor concern.

This has been a very solid laptop so far. Coming from a Lenovo Legion, there are a few things I miss (like the number pad on the keyboard) but the clarity of the screen, color accuracy, the weight of the laptop, the speed of photo processing in adobe, and the quickness of everyday workflows online make this a great laptop for everyday use! I believe it will be the work horse I was looking for in the Lenovo previously. It took me a little while to get used to the glossy screen which can be a pain in very bright rooms, but its easy to see past and when the vibrant colors POP in your photos with such clarity! Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

Beats MacBook M2 w/ Wacom for 2D Animation student

I'll check back to update this review in the fall of 2025. I bought this for my college student who is a 2D Animation student at SCAD. She had an Apple M2 and Wacom Cintiq 16 that were fine until all of a sudden, they stopped talking to each other. After replacing all the cables and connectors, we realized it was the Wacom Cintiq 16's connection which is strange. She could NOT get it to work, no matter how she tried ... with the Apple Macbook M2. We bought her this ASUS Pro Art P16 and wow. Everything is blazing way faster and more reliably than it was with the Apple. She figured out how to position the setup to keep the Wacom connected and recognized (still, suspect that the Wacom, not even a year old, is the culprit; also purchased at Best Buy - not the best support for the thing unless you buy their membership for $200 a year ... the Wacom is less than a year old). Still, she is SO HAPPY with this machine. It performs WAY faster, the colors better, than her Apple with the Cintiq. When she returns home from this school year, we will ask Wacom to honor the warranty on their device ... and then see how well the ASUS manages to keep up the good work. The ONLY concern she has is how hot the thing runs after animating for very very very long periods of time. Next year is Capstone project year, so she will be truly putting the thing through all the paces. I WILL report back on how well it's working. I love that this is upgradeable with additional memory.

I had higher hopes for this computer. I really wanted to get a newer version of the MS Surface Book but that is no more, as that comp was perfect for all my needs. This one has some of the features I liked on Surface Book like the touch screen, however, the power and capacity doesn't seem to be performing up to par. From the first couple months of having this comp, it often crashed. It seems the cursor doesn't like to be moved as much as it should allow, else it will freeze and force you to restart; and the restart functions seem frozen too. I often have to fully reboot when there's a crash. Good ole Ctrl Alt Del only works less than half the time. Also the touch screen function which I loved so much on my Surface Book, doesn't work as well as the Book, this one's zoom is too rapid and doesn't seem to follow your paces when zooming in and out, making it hard to get the right size zoom. I tried using it for gaming that requires navigation and was way too fast that it actually gave me vertigo and I became very nauseous. Needless to say I can't play games I want to play on this device. Lastly, I wish there was a color option for the exterior. While black looks good when clean, I have cats that like to be next to me when on my computer. Just a few specs of fur stand out on it a lot. I really want this comp to be better, more reliable and as good as what I had on my Surface Book. I also miss the ability of detaching the screen and using it as a tablet, or reversing the screen as well as having the heat coming from the back of the screen as opposed to the base/keyboard where it tends to overheat more easily.

Very sleek, sexy, and especially efficient. Even in situations with only 5mps of wifi, is was working through premiere pro projects with large video files like a dream. Note that buying this laptop from this authorized reseller means you aren't eligible for an upgraded warranty from ASUS. You have to seek it out from the reseller. Happy creating!

I'm a software developer and this laptop meets my needs. From the great trackpad, tactile feeling keyboard and an amazing 4k screen this thing does it all. Do yourself a favor and download and run the latest version of G-Helper to tune the laptop to get better power management and battery life. You can play games on this, but realize that the screen is 60hz. The Touchscreen is nice for the times you need it, but the screen doesn't lay flat nor can you put it in tent mode. Keyboard lighting is 4 mode white LED; Off, Low, Mid, and High.

The Asus p16 Pro art laptop unique mix of harware and construction is a triumph of performance and artistic design. The CNC single piece case has a sophisticated look and is a work of art itself. The case is matte black with treated with oleophobic chemicals to make the case water repellent and fingerprint tolerant. The screen itself is covered in Gorilla Glass. 6 making it scratch resistant and allowing 92% light transmission. The screen is also a touch screen. I really like the design of the hidden hinge, further adding to the aesthetic appearance of this laptop. The New Ryzen 9 Hx 370 AI processor combines the speed of a Ryzen 9 series processor with the RNDA 3.5 graphics GPU with 12 cores and 24 threads. This is a real graphics powerhouse. Asus uses an advanced cooling solution with 3 fans with a large air inflow from the bottom of the case and outflow directed out the bottom rear of the case. The fan speeds are adjustable from the Pro Art creator center or Ctrl+F from the keyboard, additionally filters are used to keep the fans clean and functioning at peak efficiency. The ProArt P16’s CPU cooler employs liquid metal from Thermal Grizzly that significantly lowers CPU temperatures. Clearly Asus has put a lot of thought into this cooling design allowing the laptop to function at peak performance. ASUS DialPad is a unique control pad built into the trackpad, it works with most popular media creation and editing tools as well as players. The Dialpad can also be custom programmed. The ProArt Creator Hub brings all the utilities together and allows you to control the fans, professionally calibrate the display and launch your media creation tools. There are many fine-tuning options in the Hub that allow granular control of the laptop settings. Media authoring trial subscriptions are also included; 3 mo. for Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps, Adobe Acrobat Standard DC and Adobe Substance 3D and 6 mo for CapCut. As for real world use, I tested the laptop with 4K editing using Davinci resolve studio. The rendering and scrubbing of my video was quick and there was no delay while scrubbing along the footage during editing. The OLED display produced accurate color and had no visible distortion or uneven brightness. The keyboard was very good with excellent feel and responsiveness. The backlighting was pleasing and looks good with the black keys. The Trackpad is good, The Dialpad is usable but I prefer the separate Blackmagic control pad as I use my right hand to scrub and the dial pad is on the left. I found this laptop just as capable as my Desktop system. I would say the Asus ProArt p16 is an excellent choice for Media creation, consumption and Editing at a professional level. You can Add additional external monitors to it and use it as your main workstation or take it with you to use on location. I highly recommend this well made and provisioned system.

Great computer! Graphics are outstanding. Really love the big screen and the large track pad as well as how light the computer is! Typing on the keyboard is the best experience I've had with a laptop. I really wish the arrow keys and control button were a bit larger, however. I am enjoying all the different new added keys like the emoji, print screen, and ProArt Hub key. The speakers being on the keyboard is very different than my other computer so that was a change I have to get over. It seemed like it wasn't as loud that way, but it could just be me. The touchscreen is great, but with it not being able to flip backwards, it seems kinda useless to me. The fans run quite often and are a bit louder than I would have thought. But overall, the positives have outweighed the negatives. It is a very fast computer with tons of space, nice aesthetics, great touch keyboard and trackpad, huge screen, and outstanding graphics!

A little of a headache at first with all of the Driver and Firmare updates. If you get one, ensure you keep an eye on both GPU drivers for updates. Great light weight 16 inch laptop, fans are not as bad as others are stating especially when compared to a gaming laptop. Docked a star since I had to keep checking event logs to see what software was causing issues, it was the sound custom control software. Once deleted, running like a dream.

Premium laptop. Nice screen. 10hrs battery life. Like others have said the screen seems oddly smooth even though it's just 60hz...whatever optimization and scroll settings are working well. Would still prefer a 90hz screen with same optimization. Overall, this compared to the 4k dell xps is an easy win for the asus. Thats without even taking into account that this laptop is much cheaper. The xps is just weirdly designed and way overpriced now.

I am really in love with this laptop. So many great things about it. The laptop was packaged very safely so no issues coming out of the box. it was packed safely in a bigger box, then securely and safely in the laptop packaging. I plugged it in and it was more than 50% charged. It took me about 30 minutes to set-up the laptop and transfer files via cloud and back-up. Once the laptop was fully set-up, I started downloading my apps such as Microsoft office, streaming apps, xbox games, etc. I used the laptop until it died the next day and then began the charging process. It took a little over an hour to charge it to full battery when the laptop died. I started charging at 10:37 and completed charge at 11:55. Not bad at all. The apps downloaded fairly quickly even though I downloaded multiple at a time. In the first hour I had all my apps downloaded and set-up. Most of my passwords from desktop transferred over quickly so I loved that I did not have to input that information. I downloaded "the walking dead game" and the picture and graphics were pretty amazing. I didn't have any delays while playing even though I had other apps open in the background. The picture quality was very clear and realistic looking. I love that! I am really enjoying the programs that come with the laptop like the ProArt Creator Hub. I am still getting familiar with the program but it has become very useful. The dashboard gives you the basic information like temp/frequency, fan load and memory/storage use. Work smart is my favorite because you can create task groups of most used apps and organize them so groups of apps can open all at once when you click the task group. The performance optimization tab tells you what percentage is using CPU and RAM usage. StoryCube allows you to upload all of your videos/pictures into one area and organize them based on time, device downloaded from or people. The proArt laptop also has the option to download from iCloud which is great. As an iPhone user, transferring my photos from my phone to a desktop or computer that is not apple has been a time consuming process and the fact that I can now transfer those files so easily has made my life much better. I used one drive, but that process was never as simple as it should have been. This process now, is the process I have been waiting for and I love it and I have a program already installed that can organize all my photos from my phone, my desktop (that was dowloaded from cd's) and my onedrive. One of the best parts is how fast all my pictures uploaded. I have over 3k photos and 800 videos, I started the upload process and continued to browse around my laptop and before I knew it, everything was uploaded. I have uploaded photos to my one drive or the cloud on my phone and that would take half the day. When I say this laptop runs quickly, efficiently and smoothly that is the absolute truth. I was very surprised at how well this laptop runs and I am so glad it does. The battery life on it is great too. I played the "the walking dead" game for a good 5 hours before I had to charge it. With games it takes up more energy and 5 hours is great and the bottom of the laptop stayed warm and was very quiet while in use. Lastly the color black is beautiful. I love the color and the way the laptop is built. The material used to design the laptop makes it very lightweight for a 16" and feels very sturdy. There is an option to turn the keyboard light on if it was not turned on when receiving it (I had to look it up). The picture quality is excellent. Everything looks so much more colorful and beautiful. You can change the settings to how you want the picture and the colors. I was able to use AI to create a background for Microsoft edge, and that was pretty cool. The laptop comes with 32gb of RAM and 1TB SSD, that is a lot of storage in my opinion. There is so much technology we use in our every day lives and having a computer with that much is very ideal and realistic. Overall, I rate this a 5/5 and I would Definitely recommend this laptop to everyone. Even people who are gamers. I have never had a gaming computer so I don't have much to compare it to though, but playing games on this laptop was a lot of fun.

We purchased one about three weeks ago and ended up returning it after almost 2 weeks, as it spontaneously rebooted at least once and had freezes of the touch screen several times. Purchased another one, hoping that the first was just a bad unit. Nope ... same issues. We've done all the BIOS and Windows updates but it still is unreliable. We badly wanted the second one to be good because it is otherwise amazing -- beautiful display, works well with the ASUS 2.0 pen, surprisingly lightweight considering the power. Don't know if it is the AMD components or what's going on. It's been out on the market for almost a year, so it all should be working smoothly by now. But it isn't.

The ASUS ProArt P16 is an outstanding laptop for professionals. The 16” 4K OLED touchscreen is absolutely stunning, with incredible color accuracy and contrast. So far, I'm happy with the Asus ProArt P16 laptop. It's fast, has clear bright screen and has had no issues. It would be even better with a number pad on the keyboard, too bad that's missing (why design engineers, why?). The touchpad is HUGE, too big honestly. Palm resting causes occasional cursor movement issues or pauses. I can't speak to the battery life as I don't take it off charging often. Overall, I'm satisfied with the laptop. I hope it lasts a long time with no issues!

The ASUS - ProArt P16 16" 4K Touch Screen Laptop is a simply stunning laptop, both inside and out. The OLED display is absolutely amazing. Put in any game or movie and the graphics jump in your face. I actually just finished watching Trolls Band Together on Netflix (an animated movie) and I had to come write a review. The movie was so clear and vibrant and the Harman Kardon sound from this was astounding. It was such a pleasure to watch the movie on this laptop! At 16" the display on this is perfect for gaming, video/photo editing, movies, etc. but it is still light enough to This is a high-end laptop to be sure. This laptop has really great specifications: GeForce RTX 4060 graphics ensures extremely smooth playback and is excellent for video editing. 32BG RAM is a huge amount of memory for anything you want to do - and you can do many of them at the same time! The 4K OLED Corning Gorilla glass touch display offers a 3840 x 2400 screen resolution and could not be more vivid. It supports a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 0.2 ms response time, and 500 nits peak brightness. The AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is designed for "power users and multimedia creation". With all of its power, it still runs cool due to design and the laptop's 3 fans - GPU, CPU and system. Mine has not gotten hot at all which is really unusual for my laptops. This also has a bevy of I/O ports including a 40gpbs USB4 power port, HDMI 2.1, SD Express 7.0 reader, 2-USB-A plus more. Copilot is a new AI powered digital assistant to assist with finding files, answering questions and even controlling your computer - eg: settings. This laptop has a dedicated Copilot key to make access easier. I used this feature to get the time and it was completely off - not even a different time-zone. When I responded to that effect, it cut off the conversation with this: "I’m sorry but I prefer not to continue this conversation." With the ASUS - ProArt P16 16" 4K Touch Screen Laptop - AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 - 32GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, ASUS has developed a fast and powerful machine with superior graphics. The specifications are top-notch and it acts like it. All of that, a backlit keyboard and it is Energy Star certified! For me, this laptop is a total powerhouse packed with features and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone in search of a stunning, high-end, fast and powerful laptop.

I bought this for my son to take to college. I was looking for a higher end machine that could handle cad software and not break the bank in doing so. The other ratings mentioned loud fan noise but I don't find it to be. The display is amazing on this machine. I wish it had a higher refresh rate but that's the only gripe I have with this system. Very well crafted and looks and feels high quality. Much preferred over the MacBook Air he had previously.

I purchased the ASUS ProArt P16 after switching from a Macbook Pro 2017. This computer is absolutely amazing, I love the feel of the keyboard, the 4K OLED screen, and the power it delivers. I wanted a powerful computer but not a gaming computer because I also wanted a beautiful screen. This is the perfect balance. The only reason I knock one star off is because there have been a few times where my computer just shuts down randomly, and this happened after I returned my first ASUS within the 14 day grace period and replaced it. Still happens from time to time, but overall it's not too big of an issue and only happens when I walk away from the computer and come back to it. Might just be a glitch and who knows it might get fixed some day.
