Used on long trip for the last week, so using frequently. Easy to install. Takes about 3-5 seconds to connect to the camera. Good picture. Sometimes not bright enough and cant adjust any higher.
Mounted on camper on GMC 2500. License plate on left side so sets guide line way off center. It would be good if they could be adjusted left and right so they would work on vehicles were the license plate is not in the center of the vehicle.
Solar charges well, never had a problem even though we were using it multiple times per day.

My primary reason for purchasing this camera was that I already had a compatible Garmin GPS device in my older vehicle, so it prevented me from having a second monitor mounted in my car. The image is sharp, good reception via wireless, and a good field of view. The downside is that for the camera to work, you must use the power cord that is provided, since the receiver is built in. So the real time traffic feature, built into the original GPS cord, will not function. Not a biggie, it just means if you want traffic, you cannot use the camera, and vice versa. For that, only 4 stars. Otherwise, a pretty clean solution.

Easy to install, hi-quality picture backup camera!

This backup camera is easy to install and works very well. I have this mounted in a small car (Mazda MX-5 Miata) which, I think, helps with picture quality and the speed at which the image appears on the GPS (due to the wireless nature of the camera). The distance between the wireless transmitter (on the camera cable) and the GPS affects those two things. Also, note that the cord supplied with the BC30 says it also includes a traffic receiver, which it does. However, it will only work with those GPS units that have a traffic receiver built into them (check the Garmin website to see if yours is compatible). If not, and mine wasn't, the Garmin Smartlink app supplies traffic info to your GPS via your iphone (or Android). Works really well, too, as long as you have location services turned on!

Love it! This adds a higher level of safety to my older car. This is my second car with one of these. The first car has been using this same version for years without an issue.

I needed a GPS and wanted a rear view camera for my truck. It works well with the Garmin GPS I bought at the same time. The Bluetooth feature hooked up without me needing to do anything. Works well.

I really enjoy having a good aftermarket back-up camera, I had it installed at Best Buy and whenever the truck goes into reverse the camera automatically comes on and whenever you put it back in drive the GPS comes back on. I love it!

I needed a full-time rear-facing camera for my travel trailer. I mounted the BC 30 inside the trailer looking through the rear window, The transmitter, I simply stuck to the wall, facing forward. i hardwired the BC30 to a 12 volt source which makes the camera live anytime the trailer clearance lights are on. (Always have the lights on when driving.) I integrated the camera with an older but compatible Garmin GPS. I am impressed that the video penetrates the fiberglass walls of my trailer, the fiberglass shell on my truck and reaches the GPS receiver mounted on the windshield. Now I can see obstacles as I back in, traffic behind the trailer and especially not-so-smart tailgaters......Solid installation.

I wanted to use this with my Garmin GPS which as an antenae built into the power cord to recieve traffic alerts. Unfortunately this device also needs to use the power cord to receive the video image wirelessly....and they aren't the same thing so if you use the backup camera you loose the traffic alerts feature which you paid extra to get on my model of Garmin. It did seem to work fine though...image was satisfactory although not as high res as some hard wired units. I think I may just get a hard wired unit. Recommended only if you don't need traffic alerts.

I am impressed with the quality of the camera. Often, small items such as this camera are made of plastic, with a housing of plastic that has been melted closed (two pieces with a melted seam). This camera is super nice looking, its metal, and has four small screws holding the rear cover on. Very nice!

I asked the Geek Squad installer in the Arden NC store for his opinion on backup cameras and this one was the one he recommended I use since I already had a Garmin GPS.. Nice clear view behind my car!

This is my third purchase and fourth installation overall (recommended and helped a friend to install). Very satisfied with the quality, easy to install, compatible with large number of Garmin units (check manufacturers website). Guidance lines are adjustable (depending on where you install the camera)
but not dynamic. Pairing with head unit is a breeze, picture quality at night is a little grainy, but it all depends on the amount of reverse light your car produces. Unbeatable alternative to in-dash optional packages of new cars - $300-400 (including navi) comparing to thousands :)

Clever of Garmin to make camera's that work (wirelessly via Bluetooth) with its GPS unit. Mine will accommodate up to four. Most useful on back of the trunk lid where it fits unobtrusively. Does block lever that manually opens lid. But I don't use the lever so no problem. Might check to see if this is an issue on your car. Works off of rear backup lights so illumination at night depends on brightness of those two lights. I get more than enough from my 2013 Ford C Max. Lines delineate car width and length as well as safe and caution zones. View range is 140 degrees horizontal and 120 vertical with minor distortion. Seeing that much behind your car does not prevent either thoughtless drivers or pedestrians from darting behind you even as you are backing up. Helped my wife spot a small low slung black sports car zip by as she was backing out. She would not have seen the car otherwise and might have backed into it because the idiot driving it didn't even slow down. In general, works as well as any I've seen on newer more expensive cars. Best Buy installed mine and the modest charge is more than worth it. Having BB do the install, in effect, buys insurance for a free fix in case something goes wrong. They know what they are doing; me, considerably less so. As to durability, well, I'll report a year from now on that.

This backup camera system works great and is relatively easy to install. Only issue with the camera is the kit does not include any connectors for taping into the backup light power so you will have to buy some splice connectors extra. The major complaint I have is you have to upgrade the GPS software and when you do this the warning screen (don't use this while moving and the other legal stuff) comes up when you power up the GPS and you have to touch OK to get it to go away. The old software version on my GPS did not come up every time. This just adds another step in getting going when you start the car.

I purchased this along with the Garmin GPS receiver to increase my safety in backing up. I am one of those that back into parking spaces including garages. In parking slots it lets me know exactly where I am in relation to posts, curbing and other vehicles in opposing parking slots. I had the unit professionally installed at Best Buy to eliminate installation errors and found it well worth the minor expense. The unit was installed quickly and I was on my way with a functioning device in short order. I am pleased with the unit and its performance.

Our new backup camera is great. We moved from the country to city and now we have more pets and children as well as many posts in parking lots. Our backup camers helps us see behind our car so we don't hit anything.

This camera is a must in my opinion if you have a larger vehicle and also use a Garmin GPS. If wired to the backup lights like it's designed to be it turns on within a second or two of switching into reverse. It makes backing so much easier and safer. I had Best Buy install mine because my tools have not arrived since I just moved, but the installation is pretty strait forward if you have any mechanical abilities. Garmin even has a video on their site showing how to install.

I am happy with this camera. The biggest improvement could be made with the speed of the camera. This may be a function of the garmin GPS to with which it communicates, but since they are a designed pair, I will gripe here. I am also considering adding additional reverse lighting since the camera does not have any assistance and the brightness of the Wrangler reverse lights is not very impressive.
