Nice add on if you have a compatible Garmin GPS and your vehicle doesn’t come equipped with a backup camera. No where close to HD quality because it’s wireless, but acceptable. I had Best Buy install this. Installer was knowledgeable and did a very clean job on the install. Is it as good as factory OEM, no way, but it is a good alternative.

I installed this on one of my cars first, and loved it so much I installed another on my other car. If your Garmin GPS has built-in HD traffic alerts (i.e., the model number includes LMTHD), you will retain the HD traffic alerts even with this backup camera. However, if you get your HD traffic through an external antenna/power cable such as the GTM 60 power cable, your Garmin GPS will only have regular traffic alerts but not the digital HD traffic alerts. How do I know this? I have the Garmin 2599LMTHD with built in HD traffic, and a Garmin 2589LMT that I get HD traffic via the GTM 60 power/antenna cord I purchased separately. The backup camera requires the use of a replacement power/antenna cord. With the replacement cord, HD traffic was retained in the 2599LMTHD, but was lost in the 2589LMT. I cannot get this information anywhere, even Garmin customer reps aren't sure, so I am sharing the info here.

Installed fairly easy and minimum parts to purchase.

When the top is up on my Miata MX5 backing up can be a real problem. This was a quick and easy solution to visibility issues. Took less than 30 minutes to install and instantly connects to my Garmin GPS and gives me a clear view.

Installed by bestbuy Geek Squad. After istall camera some time can not connect to screen. I call Garmin lady name Annie is very nice. She suggests me to update gps via Garmin Express. I did that update. Now no problem at all working Fine. Love this product.

I bought a Saab convertible. It is difficult to see to back up with the convertible top up. I was going to install a backup camera alone but for the same cost I was able to install a Garmen GPS and the backup camera. It works very well!

This is my 2nd BC-30 back-up camera, so installation was simple. Even the 1st installation was very straight forward and resulting picture is clear and reliable.

Love the backup cameras on newer vehicles these days. And now I have this Garmin back up camera on my 2003 RAM truck. It works perfectly with the Garmin GPS. What a relief it is to have a super nice GPS and now a backup camera.
