I needed the camera for my truck because it sits up high and sometimes it’s hard to tell when something or someone is behind me. Helpful tool

I use this with my Garmin Nuvi and it's excellent. 4 stars only because I feel the picture quality could be better, but it is wireless, so I guess that plays a factor too.

Used Garmin GPS and BC30 wireless back up camera which I had installed perfectly at Best Buy in about 49 minutes. Totally satisfied.

Felt like I didn't get my money's worth. Connected to my 2010 Camaro's reverse light but it only works during the day when the lights don't illuminate from exiting the vehicle. When I called Garmin to ask about a second camera for the front end, I found out about the sales lie that the system could receive signals from multiple cameras; that's only if you buy another transmitter. Most video camera systems run about $50, so save the cabbage for gas.

For an after market backup camera the garmin wireless BC 30 is a ideal choice. I do recommend having it professionally installed.

I used a local installer because they could get to the installation in 2 days vs. 2 weeks for the Geek Squad. The camera looks awesome on the car ~ and looks even BETTER through the GPS! It's adjustable warning lines are awesome.

I bought this for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler that didn't have a backup camera. Was going to buy a separate unit and the salesman asked if I had a Garmin and what model. The model I owned works great with this camera and I love it.

Once I figured out a suitable mounting location on my Suburban, the installation was simple.
The camera and the interface to my Garmin Nav unit is great.
I am going to add another camera to the back of my enclosed car trailer

I recently tried the Rand-McNally GPS with a WiFi backup camera and was beyond disappointed. It's performance was abysmal and I returned it to the store. I found this camera was available and ordered it along with the compatible Garmin GPS. It has been serving us great (as expected) and had I been aware that Garmin had a WiFi rear camera option, I would have purchased it in the first place and saved us the grief of the unreliable/ prebroken Rand-McNally junk. I highly recommend this unit and will continue to stay a Garmin user. Garmin should promote this unit more so people are aware it's available. I had it installed by Best Buy in their service bay and found the service reasonable in cost and the unit was installed quickly and correctly.

I installed this on a quad cab, long bed pickup, so it was quite a ways from the GPS. Never any problem with losing the signal or flicker. I just clipped the camera onto the license plate, but it does get jostled some and moves, so may try a more permanent mount. Also, I connected the power leads to the license plate light power. Although this means the camera comes on anytime the lights are on, (one can get back to viewing the gps maps with a press of an onscreen button), it also means that the camera stays on when moving back and forth to connect a trailer hitch, or for a quick check of what's behind when driving. For me it's worth the loss of the auto on function to be able to do that. Normal would be to connect to the back up light power.

Love this Backup camera -- I have two, one at the standard backup camera location at my license plate, and the other on top of my tuck looking down into the bed for watching my gooseneck trailer hitch up.

Purchased this for my Nissan Altima 2015, I use this with Garmin Drive 50LM GPS Navigator, Good one!
Go for some thing cheap, this is quite costly (i.e 99$ for camera and a 90$ for a GPS without Traffic)

This backup camera is a perfect (and affordable) alternative to built-in options of course, works/pairs with wide variety of modern Garmin navigators (check their website for complete list). If you’re comfortable with taking a few covers off from your trunk and taillight assembly, identifying some necessary wiring etc. then definitely get it, it’s totally worth it. If not - professional installation is recommended. I have it on two cars, installed myself and it took me two hours for the first car and 15 minutes for the second - you get the idea. Picture quality is OK, little blurry at night, but it all depends on overall lighting and your reverse light brightness as well.

Really cool to add to a car without a backup camera, bought this instead of fixing my cars built in one, it is quick but still a bit laggy at times and doesn’t work all that great in the rain
