Our three year old Tivo Roamio started acting up and instead of getting it fixed we decided to just upgrade and buy the Bolt. There are few important differences with the new model. First, all of the menus are now HD instead of a mix of SD and HD. Second, the unit is faster with quicker start up and faster switching between menus. Third, unit is a little quieter than the Roamio. We bought it on sale at Best Buy for less than $160. We would buy it again.

Switched to Spectrum DVR and in less than 30 days returned for Tivo. Have been Tivo customer for 10 years.

I really didn't know what to think of it coming from X1 as I actually enjoyed the interface of it. There is just something about TiVo that sets itself apart from everything else. Great product and well worth the money. Only negative I have is that there is no voice navigation, and the menu system needs to be updated.

I upgraded from the TIVO Roamio to the TIVO Bolt and TIVO's products just get better and better. From the ability to add aditonal storage space with an external SATA drive, to online scheduling and programming, to the ability to easily move One Pass schedules and recondinsg from one unit to another to the ability to watch TIVO programs on mobile devices. I can honestly say TIVO products are just getting better and better.

Bought the tivo bolt to replace the xfinity X1 box. Has been a wonderful experience so far. Box talks to comcast, Netflix, Amazon Prime and the Xfinity VOD so that we only need one remote for all the different services. It can even do over-the-air programming if we ever decide to cut the cord. Customer service is extraordinarily nice, I talked with some gentlemen in Colorado that resolved all my issues quickly (and patiently).

I never used a TiVo product before, and now I know what I had been missing out on. So easy to use.

I've been a TiVo user for almost 20 years and also have the Xfinity X1 system w/dvr (free promotion) and the TiVo Bolt is far superior. There really is no comparison. The user interface on the TiVo is so much speedier which makes it more enjoyable to use. The thing just works better! I'll admit there's a couple of minor features that I enjoy on the X1, but overall, I'd much rather use my TiVo Bolt.
