TiVo Bolt with online streaming is great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had several TiVo boxes in the last 10 years and I've always been please with both the hardware and software. The TiVo premiere box did lack the processing power to be anything but a DVR but the improvements in the TiVo Bolt are great. Streams to my TiVo Mini are much better as well. I also love the streaming features you get and the ease to set them up, this is a great product and I would stick with TiVo over Comcast's X1 any day.

Great Addition to Antenna Viewing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went to antenna TV a year and a half ago. The TiVo Bolt is a great addition; it allows recording of programs, and on some shows it enables commercial skipping. One caution: my first Bolt failed; TiVo customer service is terrible; it took 8 months to resolve. The Bolt product is great, but customer service on warranty returns is awful. Might want to get Best Buy replacement deal if you buy a Bolt.

Terrific upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our old Tivo Premiere finally bit the dust and my wife had to have another one to record that evening's Hallmark movie! So I read reviews and bought the Bolt. No regrets! Works better than ever!

Realtively simple to set up and faster speed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a vast improvement over our previous TIVO. It responds at twice the speed of the last one. The slot for the card (you need one from your cable company) is underneath and not as easy to access, but you only have to do this once. Another tip, Photocopy or take a picture of all the Serial numbers and codes as you will need them to hand when you call to set it up.

great replacement for my fios dvr
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i am almost in love with the bolt, using a cablecard with it i am saving $25 month on my bill and the guide and quality are way better. picture is clearer and closed captions work perfect. love the built in apps netflix, hulu, amazon prime!! my only problem is tivo is having issue with streaming to IOS devices, one big reason i bought the bolt, but they are working on a fix.

works well!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.took a little while to set up, not because of tivo, but comcast. once I got the right person on the the phone it was fast and very easy. If you use comcast you will need to get a card from them to insert in the tivo, when you call them , make sure they understand you need to pair the card to the unit, once they do that the unit works awsome, records and play back flawlessly .

Switched from Spectrum DVR to TiVo Bolt
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We switched from UVerse to Spectrum to reduce monthly bill from $190 to $107 (TV, Internet, Phone bundle.) UVerse was great but too expensive. Spectrum's DVR proved to be horrible - problems with guide locking up, not recording programs, only two tuners. We didn't want to pay for a TiVo ($150 purchase price plus $15 monthly fee), but it got us back to the DVR functionality we had with UVerse. TiVo doesn't list what recordings are scheduled, and DVR recording capacity is much less than UVerse, but otherwise it is fine.

Replaces Cable Equipment Nicely
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought to replace the horribly outdated equipment from Charter Spectrum. Much better interface with 4 turners instead of the 2 tuner DVR from Charter. Works very well and the included apps (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO GO, Vudu, Epix) are quick and easy to get to. I only wish I could've afforded the 6 tuner Bolt+. Looking forward to connecting to a Tivo Mini once they release the 4K models.

Love my TiVo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TiVo has come along way, and the fearures of the bolt are great. I purchased this unit becaise I wanted 4k output without having to run the Apps on my TV this has been a awesome device for 4k pictures and DVR. Setup was easy eith phone support with local Time Warner Cable. Works flawless with Vudu, Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix. Plus brings in all there free movies to one sesrcb area.

Easy and effective
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TiVo Bolt was very easy to set up and even easier to use. I like the ability to skip commercials on already recorded programs. The app and the ability to both set recordings and watch my recordings outside the home are great features. Overall, it serves as a great alternative to a cable box/DVR.

Best TiVo Yet!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 3rd version of the TiVo system. It's better than the previous versions in many ways. It's smaller. It has the ability to skip the commercials on recorded shows with the touch of a button. It also allows me to download my shows to my computer or phone/tablet to watch later. Other than the high cost to get a lifetime subscription, this has been perfect!

Excellent and so simple
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just started using TiVo this year! I liked it so much, I bought one for my parents. The only thing is, I wished I tried the amazing TiVo experience sooner. If you are only using an antenna like me, I notice that the picture on the TV was way better after connecting the antenna to the TiVo Bolt. No fussy channels and everything is FHD. Definitely the best features TiVo has are the fast play, SKIP, and OnePass. Stop over paying cable providers to rent their hardware, and start living the TiVo experience.

Great UI ... not a great OTA option
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly, I would give it "5 stars" if there was a good way to use the DVR service and ONEPASS manager for: - SlingTV - HuluLiveTV - DirectTVNow - YouTubeTV Honestly, I really don't have a dog in that fight, but hate that I have to switch TV inputs to go from Tivo to an OTA option. Sure they kind of have an OTA option, but I did not like it. I don't mind paying the $12.95/month for the DVR as I would rather use the DVR than stream TV. I LOVE the UI and ONEPass manager (which combines all of my watching options into one user interface). This is the coolest thing that I have seen and beats any cable UI ... really easy to use. However, for me, I HAVE to have live TV to watch college football and can't record them on the Tivo. @Tivo ... add one of the above and I would be back in a hiccup. I am probably going to return this ... or give it to a friend. The box itself also runs kind of hot ... like really hot, so from a hardware design perspective ... add a heatsync or the like.

Great features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it because my cable company no longer offers a dvr with a 30 second skip feature. You can set this baby to skip 30 seconds or to ffwd 30 seconds, which ever you prefer. It also has commercial skip for most popular shows. It also has prime, Hulu, Netflix and several other apps. The wifi is a little weak, but it's super fast if you connect it to your router with a network cord. My only regret is not getting the bolt plus with the 3 tb hdd. Don't hesitate, you will love it.

Ditch your cable box!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ditch your monthly payments on your cable box. At $50 a month for renting FIOS boxes the cost of the BOLT and Minis will be recouped quickly. Tivo has a better guide and DVR interface than the FIOS Quantum boxes. I didn't realize TiVo was still around, but I'm happy they are and it's a great alternative to renting cable boxes.

Drop your rental dvr box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Such a great product. I was renting a DVR box from Verizon for $17 dollars a month and I'd have to turn it back into Verizon if I switched providers. In a year and a half this thing will pay for itself. The Bolt works great with the Fios cable/internet coax (one wire for both). The only downside is I don't get the VOD that Fios has through Tivo. However I do believe Comcast VOD works well with the Bolt.

Works OK When Set Up...however
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not easy to set up on cable system. This is not a plug and play. Cable Co's know little about pairing systems, networks. Took 3 Tech visits and another 4 calls to cable Tech Support to properly pair the system (under Spectrum). TIVO support is a joke, still using India...good luck understanding dialogue and getting an cogent answer. However, equip is quality and once set up properly, works fine. Does take investment in time to learn features (which are excellent), and how to use. Good news is don't have to pay for a cable box anymore...but a suggestion, would discuss any problems related to installation and/or channel lineup with tech support SUPERVISOR (not an agent); and be aware surprisingly many if not most Techs know very little about TIVO.
