I have always used a Series 3 and loved it. I did not think it could get any better but the Series 5 was excellent and has exceeded my expectations. I love that it has some weight to it and feels solid. It does a great job in taking care of my beard. I did not want a super close shave so this works great...if you want a super close shave and not have to go over the same area multiple times, this might not be the shaver for you.

I don't always have time to shave with a blade, so it's been nice to run this across my chin a few times in the morning and get a decent shave. My last Braun shaver is 10 years old and still going strong, so I probably could have done without this one, but it's so light and fast that I don't regret the purchase. The only thing that worries me is how often I will have to replace the cleaning cartridge, but it does a great job of maintenance and recharges the shaver at the same time.

Bought this for my husband and he loves it!! He loves that he can use it in the shower or dry shaving! It was a good price for how it works!

Easy to use. Easy to clean. Battery is durable, haven't charged it for half a year. The cleaning station is powerful.

THE RAZOR HAS BEEN DESIGNED WELL FOR THE HAND. IT SEEMS TO HAVE A GOOD STRONG BATTERY ALLOWING FOR AN UNINTERRUPTED POWER SUPPLY, THEREFOR ALLOWING FOR A FASTER SHAVE. ALTHOUGH IT HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED TO USE LIGHT MACHINE OIL TO LUBRICATE THE FOIL AFTER SHAVING, IT WOULD APPEAR THAT USING ( PRE ELECTRIC SHAVE, ) CAN SERVE THE SAME PURPOSE AS LIGHT MACHINE OIL DOES IN KEEPING THE FOIL LUBRICATED SINCE IT DOES HAVE AN OIL BASE IN IT. I HAVE HAD THIS RAZOR FOR ONLY A MONTH OR TWO AND, I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS. SO FAR, THIS RAZOR DESERVERS A FIVE STAR RATING.

Very smooth cut and I like the cleaning system. Liked my first Series 5 so much I purchased this one for use in a second home.

Huge improvement over my old series 3, which served well for a lot of years. But the battery was giving out, and it was time for a replacement. I'm very happy with the shave I get from the series 5, much closer than the old series 3. If past history is any indicator, I should be getting great shaves from this for many years to come.

I purchased this razor in hopes of getting less irritation to my face. Unfortunately that didn't work. I found I had to go over certain parts of my face repeatedly and from all directions just to make sure I got a close shave. That repeated motion bothered my skin more than a normal razor. Build and quality of the shaver and the base all seemed good. It handled wet and dry without issue. The cleaning station seemed good although you would have to refill with cleaning packs from Braun. It seemed if I rinsed the razor and blades after each use, it was fine.

I did my homework on this one. Looked at Braun Series 9, 7, and 5. To me this gives me the features I liked about the Series 9 at about half the price. It isn't as bulky as the Series 7. The cleaning and charging dock works very well. I run the cleaning process every two or three days. You don't have to press the clean button just to charge the razor.

Previously owned a Norelco rotary razor, had it for years. Always assumed that was as good as it got, until I finally upgraded to the Braun Series 5. It was definitely a different experience, rotary vs. "foil" style, but I was presently surprised. The closeness of the shave is much better, and I am a huge fan of the charging/cleaning base. Ensures my razor is always full power, and I personally think it looks nice on the bathroom counter. Must have for men.

Works great wet or dry. Self cleaning, what more could you ask for.

The cleaner works very well. The trimmer slide out is easy to use. It gives a nice close shave.

I got this on sale and it really does the work for the price i paid during Christmas time and now i just saw the price went up again. Anyhow, this is the best brand/product you could find in this era we live in. Seriously, name a brand better than Braun, i doubt it. So about the product, like i said it does the job and my face feels so fresh and cook after every use. I am glad i threw away my blades, which used to hurt my face a lot. Happy customer :)

I can't really compare much to any other shavers. My last one was the same style with the two blades. I have moderately stiff facial hair and this has worked fine. The flex of the had is nice and the pop out shaver of the back has been effective. I used the cleaning function with the included pack until it was empty. Not sure if I'll continue to use it honestly.

I purchased this razor for my fathers christmas gift. I ended up using it more than he did. He has Parkinson's Disease & has someone shave him daily now. I love the fact that it cleans itself & shaves very close. The only draw back is the cost of the cleaning pods which you have to change every month or so depending on your facial hair growth & how often you use it.

I love this razor. I use a traditional razor most of the time, but sometimes I am in a hurry or need a quick touch-up before going out for the evening and this provides a very close shave every time. Also, the self-cleaning charging base is great for sanitizing the shaver with little to no effort.
