This system was refurbished but looked like new. It was missing the espresso cups but was advertised that way. It Heats up quickly and produces espresso with a lot of creme' in short order. When it comes to frothing milk for a latte' it is a little slow, but it gets the job done. It could use a little more steam pressure for the Steam setting - the pump pulses during this operation, if it just pulsed a little faster this machine would be awesome. It looks nice and cleans up easily. Overall I recommend it - but don't expect to turn out a whole bunch of Latte's in short order. I should tell you that I don't use the included metal frothing pitcher as it is far too small, if one uses the included frothing pitcher it may heat the milk in that up quickly enough.

Purchased this unit to replace a Krups espresso machine whose filter seal started leaking after about 6 months. This unit is heavier and has a solid feel and appearance. Very nice subtleties with cups, frother, filters and many little "extras" that makes this a super deal at this price. Although the unit was refurbished it was in excellent condition once cleaned and straightened out. What I mean by that is; is when the machine was taken out of the box, the protective foam was in pieces and one of the corners of the machine where it sits on the counter was bent and had to be straightened out so that it would not wobble. It was handled roughly whether at the warehouse or in transit. The other BIG minus was that the unit was dirty. Milk was dry on the frother and when cleaning the unit for the first time before use, brown flakes and other stuff came out of the frother nozzle unclogging it. Note very happy about those two things. Since It is refurbished and didn't know where its been I cleaned it out thoroughly and straightened out the base with some pressure and got it all spiffy. So far it has been a great unit with strong pressure and plenty of frothing steam. Incredible price for the quality of this machine. Although a couple of minor gripes IMO. This is a quality piece we hope to get good use out of. It says it has a 1 year warranty on the box and I registered the product with manufacturer. Very nice look and feel with simple functions.

The machine did everything it was supposed to do. If you're expecting $1,000 results from a $65 refurbished machine, you're going to be sorely disappointed. If you're looking for an efficient, easy to use machine that has great results if you can follow simple instructions, you will be very pleasantly surprised. My wife and I enjoy skinny iced lattes from the expensive coffee shop. If you figure $5.00 each, this machine will have paid for itself in less than a week if you're a shop regular. Here's our recipe for making a skinny iced latte that is pretty close to the shop. If you use SF syrup and skim milk, you're looking at 130 calories total at a cost of less $1 each. 2 oz of espresso (that's one of the cups that comes with the machine) 2 tablespoons of your favorite flavor syrup 1/2 cup of crushed ice 8 oz skim milk Sit back, relax, enjoy and think about the money you've saved that you can use somewhere else. Can't speak to the durability of the machine...we've only had it a few days. So far, it's worked exactly as it is supposed to.

After ordering a cuisenart refurbished espresso maker and returning because the water tank was broken. I took a chance at the Breville, and am completely happy with the performance of this product. The pump is a little noisy but nothing unexpected; however, the speed and quality of the espresso and steam is worth purchasing a refurbished or even new unit. Highly suggest this product to anyone interested in making high quality espresso drinks at home.

I just received mine today and i bought grounds at SB to have it tested. The previous reviews says it all except that i received mine with everything. My only complain is the steamer. It really is weak. And i would have to buy a new milk jug coz it wouldn't let me make a flat white. Other than that, this is so perfect for your home.

My parents bought this espresso maker for me as a wedding gift. I've used it a few times and have been able to make great lattes - for a person who has never made one before. The machine is simple to use and simple to clean. My only complaint was that my factory refurbished machine DID NOT come with the espresso cups and saucers (when it was supposed to), it DID have the frothing pitcher, cleaner, and scoop/tamper. I had to go to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and purchase a set. Other than that I love my machine and use it almost daily.

The maker didn't work at first. I had to remove the bottom of the unit, remove the main tubine and prime the pump with water. After that the maker worked fine. After 2 months of use the filter clogged. Now requires running water through with with now grounds before and after each use and unplugging the bottom pin hole before each use. Other than that the unit works great and produces good espresso.
