It don't work as far as it says it bought this for the sole purpose of my 2 grandsons who live only a mile away from each other so they can talk and it doesn't work unless they're standing outside facing each other

Overall these are a good deal at best buy. They do not function for more than 1 mile when driving on mountain roads.

Used them once to communicate between vehicles when we purchased a new used Liberty. Lots of features and worked great for keeping tabs on one another in Thrift stores that we stopped at on the way home.

Found that this has good line of site range while on the road but if the car you are following gets much more than a mile in front of you, or behind heavy traffic - forget about hearing them. Lots of static even though squelch should have handled that.

Got these as a gift for my Godson. They work great and are water resistant which comes in handy if they get left outside. Much better than buying toy versions that break.

We purchased our units before making a trip across country to Washington state and down to California. These are great! We drove in separate vehicles and the range is astounding. They never dropped the signal and the clarity was amazing. For coordination of stops and traffic lane changes for groups it was priceless! A very valuable purchase.

We used them on trip and they worked well in the two mile range. In the first part of the trip we kept hitting the wrong buttons and were not hearing everything. With time and daylight we figured that out. Too many buttons on that side.
