Nice sound but the play fi app needs some work, plus no Arc capabilities. Hopefully more options down the road.

Great sound - probably one of the best soundbars out there. Unfortunately, there's no Bluetooth. That's a big hassle if you're thinking of playing music.

Sub and soundbar sound great, fills room. Clear even when loud. Sub will bump the room if u set it to..Fairly ez set up. Would have kept, however i wanted surround sound and W Studio is not made to link to the W7's i bought. Had to return for the W Studio Micro, great sound too but wouldnt connect to W7 either.. I do highly recommend this W Studio set up for sound and quality if all you are looking for is a sub/soundbar only.

Great Sound Match For My Big Screen

I went in looking for a moderately priced sound bar for my 60" Samsung. Rep guided me to the Magnolia room to listen to some upscale systems. Liked the DT system for its rich sound and I was impressed with its ability to run additional speakers without wiring. I like the fact that it is essentially local made and sourced. The additional music sources (XM, Pandora et al) are a pleasant and much used capability. I am very pleased with the sound and the technology. In truth I have a couple of reservations that might make my rating an overall '4.8'; the total volume, in my room anyway, is a tad weak. Also, to use the XM sat app you must have an upscale sat subscription. I upped my sub and glad I did. also, the rep said the system could be controlled by my cell phone (which works admirably) as well as by my tablet. Unfortunately an error msg and some online digging revealed that the app is not yet 'optimized' for all devices - it downloaded but did not work on my Samsung Note10.1. But the sound experience is rich and tunable to my liking; and the DTS technology is amazing. I will add additional remote speakers and update my review.

Great sound bar and subwoofer. The only drawback is we have a Samsung TV and with a Samsung sound bar, we can control the sound bar and tv with the same remote, but we couldn't with this soundbar. Maybe it’s our older tv that’s the problem, but something to look into when purchasing if you want to consolidate remotes.

This is a great sound system! The soundbar produces crisp sound and the sub hits perfectly. Easy overall setup and connects great with my homes network. Only complaint is the remotes short range1

Great sound and bass would recommend optical cable vs HDMI thru the sound bar. Not Bluetooth enabled uses WiFi however you can move woofer within range of WiFi and power

I couldn't decide between Sonos and this Def Tech soundbar. The sound was much better on the Def Tech but I was worried about the software. So far easy setup, Def Tech app and Spotify work great, and the sound quality blows Sonos away.

I've had the speaker for about a month or so and while it definitely improves the audio quality over my tv, it's not as good at playjng music as I would like - the audio seems a bit muffled at some frequencies. Also, I'm on my 2nd sound bar as the first stopped communicating with my tablet after a couple of weeks. Pluses - improves dialogue and bass on tv Negatives - expensive and not as good audio quality for music as I would like

This one has a very good sound quality, with nice wireless subwoofer its a good soundbar, even though the definitive technology app is not worth, that allows you to stream music from your local server or any other online service but again not very intuitive, but as a sound bar I like this device

Best soundbar I've ever heard. Much better than Sonos with the sub. I compared with Devialet Phantoms ($4k for stereo setup) and they were competitive). Only downside is the onscreen menu is very bland and there is a limited soundstage and therefore average stereo imaging

Awesome quality, I like this better than the sonos and the fact that you can use it as a receiever as well and control 3 different inputs thru it is a great feature. Sound quality is great and huge bass when you want it.

I was very skeptical of a sound bar giving even a decent simulation of 5 channel sound but this one does the trick. Yes, the front end menu and apps are very poorly designed and offer little in the way of really making use of this system. But that can be updated. The sound from this system is very solid given the overall size of the package. Right out of the box, I played an action movie and was impressed with the overall depth of sounds this system put out. The sub is small but offers enough boom to let you know you have one. It won't shake the windows, but it's perfect for a smaller space. Is it overpriced? YES!!!!!!! But does it deliver what it promises? I believe it does. Having gone from a very large, expensive receiver/tower speaker set up to this (due to space limitations), you don't have the myriad options that a full-blown system will afford you. But if you are looking at sound bars, then you shouldn't be expecting that. And if you are, then you are delusional and I doubt you really grasp the concept behind a soundbar system. That aside, this system looks great and sounds great. You can easily make out all dialogue yet still get the deep booms when the explosions come. I don't use this for music, only TV and movies. To quote Ferris Bueller, "If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

The sound is outstanding -- crystal clear.. I love the option to control the music with my iPhone. It was fairly easy to setup by myself, too. I will definitely be adding more of these speakers as time goes on. THANK YOU BEST BUY for recommending.

I listened to a few sound systems and was not impressed with the quality of the sound. Spoke with a few Best Buy Reps and after a while, a fully experienced Rep came over to discuss what I was looking for. He recommended this product and I am very happy with the sound quality. Had a few phone calls about noise disturbances, but after modifying the base level, that problem has been resolved. Other than that, did not find an equipment code for using another remote control. No timer off setting that I found, but eventually does turn off. The sound bar is about 3.25 inches in height and blocks the signal to and for the HDTV 3D 55" TV controls, but just need to raise the height of the TV on its own stand to clear the path for the input signals for the TV remote, meanwhile, off centered the soundbar to allow the signal to reach and adjust the TV controls.

I looked at several of these, including Sonos. This blew them away. It has a very full, rich sound. Even at a low volume, the sound is amazing. I really like that you can hook it up through HDMI or optical. There are definitely cheaper options. Some of the 500 - 700 soundbar's are great. I shopped around for a while and listened to soundbar's in two different Best Buy's. In the end, I kept coming back to this one. It's an investment, but it will not disappoint.

I ended up returning this soundbar. There were just too many negatives for the price you pay. Movies sound great on this soundbar. Crank it up and you'll get great sound. For a 5.1 channel soundbar I wasn't really able to make out the independent channels though. I did have an issue with the lowest volume on the soundbar being too loud. I have a newborn and was hoping to enjoy the soundbar at its lowest volume at night. It wasn't in the cards since the lowest volume was pretty loud. The other issue I had with movies was the sub cutting in and out. I did have the wireless sub near my wireless router which I've heard can cause interference. Listening to music was another issue. It just wasn't a very full sound. The highs were good and the bass was solid from the sub, but there is no mid-range even with the 3" drivers. It just sounded tinny. No HDMI ARC was another issue but not a deal-breaker. Movies sounded great with the optical cable and you can program the remote. The lack of bluetooth was also not a problem. Bluetooth has a limited range and you can't walk around the house without the bluetooth signal cutting out. The PlayFi app worked great and allowed me to move around the house and not worry about being out of range. If you're looking for an upgrade to your TV speakers and like to crank it up for TV and Movies then this can be a great purchase for you. If you have a large room and want to use it for music as well then you should look elsewhere.

I love this soundbar. The app for the phone is nice and the sound quality for movies and music is amazing. The only issue I've had with it is getting the Panasonic smart tv apps (Netflix and Amazon video) to play through it. It will only play through the TV speakers even with HDMI ARC setup. It's not a huge deal since we can get Netflix on the xbox, but still... it'd be nice if the tv apps worked. If I manage to figure out the apps issue, I will try to update my review.

Our living room isn't very big, but we purchased this in hopes to make the sound better. This product did the trick. It may not be as good for bigger living areas, but for something simple it's a good buy!
