Clint Eastwood portrays the leader of three men who escaped from Alcatraz. The photography is excellent, the storyline is tense, and the mystery of the escape remains.

(Sorry about that). A great procedural. Really makes you believe that it all happened exactly that way, although I’m sure some liberties where taken.

True to life account of the escape of 3 prisoners from Alcatraz prison (San Francisco Bay) in 1962, which prompted its permanent closing. The planning was ingenious and holds our attention every step. The escapees were never found and speculation continues today regarding their fate. Great performances by Eastwood and others make us feel as though we were there. Patrick Mcgoohan is great as the unfeeling, cruel warden.

While it won't win reference quality awards this blu-ray is a worthy addition to your collection for the price. It's a very good movie that never seems to get old, it is also the last time Don Siegel would direct a Clint Eastwood vehicle. I found it in the 5.99 bin. Beware that there are two versions of the cover art, find the one with original art (Clint Eastwood breaking through a cement wall)

I bought this movie as a gift but I've seen it a few times myself. This is one of Clint Eastwood's best. It's based on a true story about prisoners who escape from Alcatraz (hence the title). The best aspect of this movie is the concise planning and preparation that the men go through in order to execute this nearly impossible escape. I highly recommend checking it out.

I always enjoyed this movie and now that I have visited Alcatraz I love it even more. The jail in the movie is the actual jail. This is a great movie I wish we knew if all of the men survived. I learned that the prisoners that escaped are supposed to be searched for until they turn 90.

The streaming services are charging for this great movie. So, I decided to just purchase it. Best Buy delivered it very quickly and included Free shipping!

This is a very good film attended by the usual Eastwood understated--that is, subtle--acting. There are several memorable characters here and a good deal of suspense regarding the impending breakout. Not nearly as shocking or gritty as The Shawshank Redemption, but a good story nonetheless.

I always liked this movie. I remember taking my girl friend to see it when it first came out in the Theaters . This is based on a true story, and till this day, I wonder what happened to these 3 men. Must see, and a good piece of history also .

This is one of my favorite classic Clint Eastwood's movies. It's a true story on a prison break. I was excited when I saw it in a movie bin and how inexpensive it was and on Blu Ray. I'm glad I purchased it.

Great film. Do yourself a favor and visit the real Alcatraz. It was one of the best tours I've been on. You'll see the paper mache heads the prisoners made. Clint Eastwood and the rest of the cast did a great job.

Clint Eastwood once again proves himself as one of the best action stars of the last 30 years. Based on a true story Clint and crew fry to escape from the one prison in the country that no one has ever escaped from.

Love the movie. But Best Buy kept sending me the wrong movie though. Their SKUs must have been off. I ordered this 3 times and got the same wrong movie every time. finally gave up. I later found it in store

This is a great movie from the 70’s and another classic Clint Eastwood film. The blu-ray really made this older movie look great. It brought out great color and details.
