Review of Eufy SoloCam S340 The SoloCam S340 is a compact version compared to Dufy floodlight versions. Its camera makes unique with charging mode in battery or solar mode. On the camera: 1. It has 3k wide angle lens 2. 135 degrees Field view 3. Large f/1.6 Aperture 4. 8X Hybrid Zoom 5. 2K Telephoto Lens 6. Day and Night capture image Power: 1. 2 Hours of Solar Charging gives All-Day Power. From its specification, it use a called SolarPlus that makes charging possible under low light and optimization. Weather Condition 1. -4F to 140F operating temperature 2. All Weather Resistant Above specifications are the most to remark as uniqueness to the camera. On the installation note, it is simple, a matter of selection of where and how to place. It comes with accessories to make easy for basic installation. It includes camera holding short arm, a holder for the solar panel. And long cable (usb-c to usb-c) to connect between solar panel and the camera. Additional charging cable usb-a to usb-c. The connecting cable between solar panel and the camera are two part, in which plugins those, it has rubber based material that covers the join. Adding to the Eufy Application require the normal connectivity instruction to WiFI, setting up the application and camera among some of task to complete to have the camera up and running. As rest of other devices, the process is simple without any major steps that complicate it. Now, from the app, the view of camera shows quite impressive view, and easy to control. For having two camera, on the application appears the screen divided in two horizontally. On he top for far view, and bottom the closer look up. Now as rest of Eufy Camera, the tracking is a bit challenge. For setting to track only human, where there is tree and high wind, it still considers human in movement. Aside of this detail, having multiple cameras it place in one screen the activities from multiple camera following the time line. This is quite good feature as user don’t have to switch from device to device to see respective activities. (Cross Camera Tracking as per Eufy’s and require HomeBase S380) Also, it has guardian light that act as spotlight that makes the S340 quite comprehensive security solution for its size. What does well: 1. The camera feature and high resolution 2. Integrated charging mode via Solar panel 3. Good control via App 4. Alternative power via Battery that last 3 months for Stand Alone usage. 5. Feature for Band Tilt (Horizontal 360, Vertical 70) Wish it does better: 1. Recognizing human vs auto vs tree movement. Living in high wind area, the movement of trees and plants are detected as human or auto and as result creates many alerts that are false alerts. 2. The USB-C port on back of the camera looks as it will not resist the water as it leave open air the connection. For fairness, it does fit securely and the material covering the connector are made of rubber alike material.

Picked this up to keep watch on our house, I was blown away by the quality and ease of set up. This camera also will track motion when it senses it. No need to manually track the person or cars. Solar powered and have had no issues with the battery staying charged.

I have been using Blink cameras for years. They were slow, the video quality wasn’t great and the battery life varied drastically. I switched to Eufy just recently. This is my third camera. The solar panel gets sun for a good part of the day and it keeps the camera at full charge. I’ve never seen it lower than 99%. I did fully charge it before I put it up. The setup and install was simple. This one is in my backyard and picks up an area of 50 feet by 50 feet with no problem. I get dozens and dozens of video clips when I go out on the back patio or the dog goes out in the yard and the camera stays fully charged. Like any solar panel, you should keep it clean. A quick wipe every couple months should do the trick. The video quality is excellent compared to Blink. The camera follows humans and pets moving throughout the yard. Some of the Eufy cameras are 4K but this one is limited to 3K. It’s still great quality but I wish they were all 4K. I did add the home controller with a 1TB hard drive. It can handle hundreds of video clips and stores them forever at no charge. You can save the video clips to your home computer as a backup if necessary. Eufy is supposed to be coming out with even better video quality cameras but I believe they are going to have to be hard wired. I have one of their current hard wired cameras with the security lights on the front of my house and it’s even better 4K quality but it requires a junction box or the ability to wire a cord to plug it in.

Love these cameras. Didnt want the hassle of wiring up cameras and running wire, these were a perfect match. Plug and play basically. They identify ANY motuon and follow it, color night vision of you want it, and the small solar panels keep the battery charged. Perfect camera for what i was looking for.

Very easy to set up and install. I like the solar panel as I never worry about the battery again! The solar panel can be separately installed to ensure the best watch to the sunshine. I also love its 360 degree scope and it can track the motion of human being!

Its really good has good motion detection and good night vision as well but looses clarity at certain distances but besides that has been an overall good camera system!!

I bought two Eufy Solocam S340 wireless security cameras for my front and backyard, and I’m impressed. The installation was straightforward, and the video quality is crystal clear, even at night. Motion detection works perfectly, and the two-way audio feature is a nice touch. The battery life is long-lasting (the sun charges it), and I feel secure knowing I can monitor everything from my phone. A solid, reliable choice for home security—highly recommend! I love eufy products!

Super easy to install. Charges quickly. Works well and provides peace of mind. Easy to navigate and saves to your phone album. Great night and color resolution. Highly recommend.

They work awesome i was going to buy 8 total to get my whole front and back yard and i only need 2 thanks to the 360 and you can hear really clearly and the motion detection great it alerts me as soon as someone enters my front yard and i have a decent size front yard i really recommend if your looking to buy your 1st or up grade and almost forgot the solar its great not having to be changing batteries.

Really like these cameras they are solar and are easy to use. The best part is they are solar. No taking down to charge all the time.

very good streaming quality, the night time and led feature work great in low light situations. The quality of the video stream is a big plus and the battery does not have trouble with the solar feature.

Ordered the S380 with 2 s340 cameras. And ordered a 3rd. Cameras work great , easy to install

This was great but it did take longer to sync to my WiFi n I had a computer person installing for me so that is why it does not get a five star Picture great but unless it is on your home it has a bit of a less than clarity of picture on my tree but that is where I need it

easy installation and set-up. got this for my daughter and she loves it. complete coverage of the front and side views of the house and neighbour hood. excellent value and quality!

The camera works well enough. Install is pretty easy, the camera quality is great in daylight and okay at night. The AI tracking is pretty good if you want it to follow people then it detects them in the field of view. The range of motion is good enough that you can get a 360 degree view, I just the range of motion was also 360 degrees. Instead it goes to a point in either direction and stops. The cameras also do this one annoying thing when I use the app over wifi, no matter the device, it will make me lose internet connectivity even though it says I’m still connected to the wifi. I have to reboot the internet on my device to restore it. This only happens when I try connect to the cameras in the eufy app. It was also going this while setting up the cameras to the wifi network, which made setup take much longer than it should have. If you can get past that, it works great.

Best camera out there. I have google nest cameras and ring but prefer this better with no subscription. I really like the double cam and following movement.

I ordered just one to try it out. We’ve always had Nest cameras and loved them, then Google bought them and in my opinion quality went down and software for picking up activity. We are so pleased with this camera we’re going to replace all our cameras. right now we don’t have a plan and are happy with the “local storage” option too. get picture, great rotation and AI following etc.

We installed the s340 outdoor solar powered 3kptz about 18 months ago. It was pretty easy for my husband to install and get it up and running. The camera quality and range are good. The solar power charging is good. It is mounted to monitor our driveway and backyard. Detection of human movement has been pretty consistent. I'm often displeased by the short length of time it stays on when a human has been detected, however. Despite being set to detect animal movement, it is triggered by pets or small wildlife. The first 6 months or so detection of vehicles in the driveway was fair. It detected vehicles comings and goings 95% of the time. Detection has decreased drastically overtime, picking up less than 10% of vehicle movement in the driveway.

Works great. I have several ring cams and this thing blows them away. The notifications are quick to arrive, the onboard storage is sufficient, no need for another subscription. Picks up the motion you tell it to pick up. Great camera I’ll buy another.

All around good security camera. App is free which is a plus. Solar panel works great battery is always fully charged.
