As a 75-year old, I'm a little hesitant to buy technology unless I've seen that its benefits compensate for the time invested in learning how to use it. The Fitbit was not that hard to get going (with a little advice from my grandchildren) and has been a very good investment for me. It reminds me to keep active; helps me monitor my heart rate during exercise, so I know when it's aerobic; and gives me a weekly printout of my activity during the week, so I can chart my progress. I love having it!

I was skeptical of the HR tracking based on the reviews, as this was the primary reason that I wanted this product. I run, lift weights and do high intensity interval training every day. After playing around with position and tightness, the Charge HR has consistently measured my HR accurately at rest, during moderate exercise and during high intensity exercise, including heart rates up to 162 bpm during hill intervals. I wear the Charge HR on my non dominant hand, left, about 2-3 fingers width up from my wrist bone, moderately tight. I tighten it further during intense exercise and loosen it slightly for sleep and normal wearing. It has consistently measured my heart rate during sleep also. My heart rate readings are similar to what I've gotten with other measurements including chest strap. I find myself being more mindful about my calorie intake as I've been logging my eating and drinking and comparing it to my calorie burn. The run tracking with the iPhone is similar to what I've gotten with run keeper. Very happy so far.

Great fitness tracker to keep you moving!

The Fitbit Charge HR feels great on the wrist and tracks all my activity which helps keep me motivated and moving. I was able to lose an average of 2 pounds a month just because of my increased activity prompted by the tracker. Unfortunately, the device is not very rugged and more suited to those who keep their hands in their pockets and work at a desk. While the strap has held up well, the face scratches easily and the corners are susceptible to breakage. I walked out a door and accidentally brushed my arm on the door frame and the inside corner of the Fitbit face cracked. Within a week, a chunk of the face in the corner had fallen out and a few weeks later, the Fitbit Charge HR was no longer operational. Fortunately, Fitbit has great customer service and they sent me a new tracker. However, since I don't think it is very durable, I would say that most active people will get six months of good usage and possibly a year or more, but those who work in building trades, or spend much time outdoors gardening or camping, etc. would probably not be so lucky. If you consider the fairly reasonable price of these devices, and the benefits they can provide, I still feel it's a relatively good deal. However, my wife now has the Fitbit, and I have opted for the Samsung Gear Fit2.

I have been having this activity tracker for a month now. This has been one of the best activity trackers I have used till date. The metrics it generates really motivates me has a fitness enthusiast. The sleep tracker and heart rate monitors are good add ons to have. Flip side is it could have been water proof so that I could have used it for swimming. And i wish Fitbit could have also supported to have integration with iPhone health application :(

I purchased the Fitbit HR as a reminder to get up and move when at the office. Tracking my steps has done just that. The heart rate monitor works well. I have tested its accuracy with my other heart rate monitor device that straps around my chest. The con is that I get surprised at times when the battery dies or is dying. I wish there was an alert on the fitbitbthat says what percentage the battery is at. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

All around its a good tracker of steps taken, stairs climbed, current and average heartbeat. The face scratches extremely easy. Tracking sleep seems to be ok. Having caller ID is kinda cool on your wrist. I'm a little more excited about the Apple watch, I think if given the choice to rebuy the Fitbit or wait on the Apple watch, I would probably have waited.

Bought the Fitbit hr for my wife, she had my son who had it and liked it so she asked for it as a b day present Had it for a couple months and she likes it because it motivates her to get her 10,000 steps in each day and she can compete with her friends as well. It's worth the extra $ to have heart rate built in for sure . Other watches may do one specific function better like monitoring sleep but overall Fitbit her does most things better

I bought my fitbit to challenge myself to go the extra mile. I wanted a more accurate measurement than my phone. I love the app! I can keep track of me weight, water intake and even food calories! I check it constantly to push myself to get me steps and burn calories. I purchased mine on 5/31 and have worn it everyday and night. I love the sleep tracking. Worth the money paid! Happy spender

I bought this to replace the Fitbit Charge as that was giving me a rash. So far I have had no rashes from the Fitbit Charge HR. Does a good job of tracking my steps, my workouts and my heart rate. The only thing I wish was that the battery could go more than a few days without needing to be charged when it's monitoring the heart rate. I love the fact that I has challenges so that I can challenge my friends to see who can get more steps in.

Overall I really like the fitbit step tracking and sleep tracking. Also being able to challenge friends to get "Fit" is great fun!! The only issue I have is the battery only stays charged about two to three days before totally dead, NO WHERE close to the five days claimed by Fit Bit. I have confirmed this with a few of my friends and they have similar results of needing to charge the battery every few days instead of every five.

I would have provided 5 stars if charge time lasted 7 days as advertised but it's more like 4 to 5. The band is secure but not required to be tight to get the heart rate. Feature of phone ring with a vibration of band is great, caller ID also shows on band. I do not have to continually plug into computer to load data, it syncs automatically. Phone app also has all data current all the time, no synchronization required. Just love it.

I have had my Charge HR for about a month now. I didn't know if it was going to be a fad, or a new direction. I have always maintained an active life style, but metabolism seems to slow as you get older. I had run with Polar units in the past with the chest strap, I now primarily use a treadmill. So far, I find myself checking total steps, or my heart rate. It is great to get feedback without having to attach other devices....

My Doc has been after me to excersize more and I thought I excersized enough. Unfortunately, my blood work disagreed. Instead of pills, I bought the Fitbit HD and was amazed at how little I was actually doing on a daily basis. I have now significantly increased my activities and changed my habits. I look for the distant parking spot instead of the close one. I walk daily and feel bad when I'm below my averages. I find it to be great motivator and highly recommend it to anyone.

I did alot of research and tried a few but the Fitbit Charge HR is the best one for me. I love the ability to track my steps, calories and sleep. It has helped me work on different eating strategies so I have better sleep at night. Also great to challenge friends and family to step competitions. It was great when I saw my son on the treadmill one day and he said he was on it because mom was beating him for the day and he needed to catch up so he could win. In a word AWESOME!!!

I researched for at least 2 months on which fitness tracker I wanted and ultimately decided with the Fitbit Charge HR for several reasons. The battery life is optimal (lasts 4 days), very easy to use (1 button and only 6 features to look at) in that you are not overwhelmed with the screen, and a very nice color and design. I have used it on my runs and walks and found the app is very easy to navigate as well. Their website is full of great advice on how to make the most out of the product. After each run, it keeps tracking your heart rate and it is able to determine how long you were in the cardiac or fat burning zone. That makes it all the worth while if you are really trying to calculate how many calories did you burn during and after your work out. Best investment I made to get myself into a healthier me.

I have had no issues with Charge HR. It was easy to set up. It is easy to read and seems to keep good tracks of my steps. My biggest surprise was how it kept track of my sleep patterns. Now I know why I was always tried. I thought I was getting more sleep than I was. But after reviewing my sleep patterns now I understand why I was tired and have changed some small adjustments.
